FF is right, u r thinking of Cyprus. Lovely place, got posted there for 6 months when I was in the Navy. Highly recommend it.
Crete is the big long island underneath Greece that has all those Minoan ruins and "could" be the inspiration for the legend of Atlantis.
All these islands, Crete, Malta, Cyprus, Sicily, have all been Greek or Italian at some point. I've changed my mind about this Hispania business, I go along with the general Mediterranean catchment area for the human cargo now. Except it wouldn't have included N.African coastal territories, they'd prob.have been aligned with the Coalition.
