The 5 Sleeper Ships

We all know that the Alliance lanched 5 sleeper ships:
Liberty: America. Note: (Where's Canada?)
Rheinland: Germany.
Kusari: Japan.
Bretonia: England.

And then there comes Hispania. But my question is, what country is Hispania?
Africa?

And what countries is the Coalition made of?

Nonetheless, I think of the Coalition and Alliance as coming more from ethnicities than geographic regions, so the Hispania could have been from Alliance members feeling a sense of Hispanic heritage.

The Starlancer story is interesting (in answer to your Coalition question), and reading/playing it actually enhanced my feel for Freelancer and its backstory quite a bit.

The sleeper ships were launched in the 23d century. By that time the US had annexed Canada, or vice versa. (Except maybe for Quebec, which seceded and floated out to sea somewhere.)

all you have to do if you REALLY can't figure out that Hispania means Spain is look at the names of the Outcasts and Corsairs. What ethnic background do u think someone with the name Maria Gonzalez or Jose Gomez could be? Icelandic? Vietnamese?
