questions about alien organism

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

questions about alien organism

I am surprised to not find more questions about alien organisms.
For this reason i open this file. Have you theories about it ?

I think there is a connexion between nomads and alien organisms.

One day, i was flying in a green cloud with alien organisms, and i wondered if alien organisms could be nomads babies. Well, i dont think they are, but maybe organisms are a part of the nomads conception.
Coz, when you ask information about a nomad ship, the panel say there are created by culture.
So they are a lifeform, or a kind of biomecanoid ships, something like this.

We know that they are powerfull boosters for life and some corporations in Sirius seem to have understand the great potential of these organisms.
In fact, it is strange to find adapted human weapons on the nomad ships, or maybe must i say simply, on the nomads.
Are the nomads unable to build their own weapons or are they unarmed creatures use by someone for an obscure reason ?
If the nomads have been created by the Dom Kavash, why their weapons are like ours, except for energy ?

Many questions without answers.

Maybe we must follow the track of Alien Organisms and listen very attentively the rumors about.

the only thing i find wierd is when you blast a rock with a fully armed l10 ship anything survives
yet they die in your hold at an alarming rate
an altogether strange level of tolerance to different things
still you get good money for them

Yes... it is a little logical that when you blast a micro cell with a powerfull weapon, nothing can survive. Poor little micro organism... LOL

No, there is no connection between Alien Organism and Nomads. None is given in the game and if there was, the spoilers would be littered with topics about it.

They were created by the Dom Kavash culture. They are not some sort of biomechanical ships. if you remember the mission about the experimental shipyard you're supposed to destroy with Herr von Klaussen he tells you they have stolen the designplans for the Nomad battleships. That would be a bit strange if they were biomech ships.
And furthermore, if they were biomech ships, somehow I feel Juni, King, Orrilion or the scientists (forgot their names) would have told you in the story.

I never saw the guns mounted on the nomad ships. You can loot them because they drop them, but they are not mounted to the ships. They drop shieldbats too and they don't even have shields. It's just to give you something to fight for. So the weapons they use are not like manmade weapons at all. Just the ones they drop.

Personally I think Alien Organisms are boring, hard to transport (long hauls and highly perishable) and there is actually no point for them to be in the game, none other than that you would expect alien lifeforms in a populated area as big as Sirius.
They (MS/DA) included them in the game to prevent stupid questions about them not being in the game. (one more for the x-pack/sequal topics if you can still follow me)

Shine my shoes! I want to see myself when I look down on you.

Waouh ! Which virulence in your answer !!

Sorry, but a ship created by culture, like plants, or cells culture in genetic is something living at my eyes. Information panel about the nomad ships say : created by culture.

If you scan a nomad ship near gammu or primus, and select the weapon he have in the list, the panel indicate that it is an attempt to adapt human weapon with nomad energy.
So... The nomad fly with an adapted human weapon... no ?

During the campaign, i have scanned some nomads ships, they had shieldbats ( maybe just for help you, it's possible), but the nomads near gammu and primus dont have.

So please, scan the nomads in gammu/primus system and read the informations.

And, of course i would expect alien lifeforms in a populated area as big as Sirius.
This is a sci-fi game in a sci-fi universe. Isnt it ?

I personaly dont know anybody who work with DA or Microsoft, so it is a little bit hard for me to affirm why they had included alien organisms in the game.

Well...Keep cool !

Well Nick,
maybe we have a little problem of translation. Dont forget i play with a french version of the game and i my english is a little poor.

In my game, the sense of what say the information panel of the nomad ship is : culture like breeding. If you can translate french in english, i can post you the exacts words this evening.

Can you post me the text of your panel ? for compare ?

Sometimes, there is translation problems in games.

Well, I don't know what virulence is

Never intended to flame you, I was just trying to explain to you, my point of view.
So, I have to say I never been to the Nomad systems outside the campaign, but I thought they were locked.
I now understand the culture you're talking about.

The only explenation I have for the Nomads using human weapons is that they infiltrated the navies of the houses and used the weapons as a startingpoint and then they improved it with their own techs.

Anyway, lake I allways say: It's just a game.
The writer can make their own rules to life and physics, that's the good thing about being a writer (wich I'm now btw)

The author of Sherlock Holmes brought the popular detective back to life after he received thousands of letters from disapointed fans who didn't want their hero to die, didn't he?
And how come James Bond is still alive after 3 decades of spying?

That's why they call it fiction.

It's good to discuss about the stuff that's in a game, but don't take the Sim-part of Spacesim to serious. MS/DA didn't do that either.

Edit: If I get a chance I will post a infocard to compare.

What can i say... i am a curious guy (thanks mum & dad).
I like role playing games and i like sci-fi.
Freelancer is a kind of role playing, but a little different from the others.
I quickly realize the great possibilities of this game. But after the campain, i was disapointed that the game seem to be already finished.
You know, i am not a warrior, so... the shooting part of the game is not for me the most interresting thing (even if fly with a saber and kick the ... of agressive aliens is fun )
So... I decided to explore Sirius and i discovered many mysteries in this story.
Now i search the answers. It is like a game in the game.
Who know, maybe there is something to find. In this case i will be really happy and i think everybody will be too.

Have a nice day !

So, here is the text i have when i scan a nomad ship near Gammu.
I have tried to translate better as i can, but i think my english style is definitively bad

"We know almost nothing about this ship, except his structure seem to be organic, that let think it is maybe obtained by culture rather than by construction".

And for the weapons, scan say :
Laser - No information about this weapon
Blaster and canons - Apparent attempt to configure nomad weapon to make it compatible with colony ships.

Et voila.
