Race HELP!

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Race HELP!

I was wondering if anyone knows how to complete the race mission with the cruise speed on 3000 (or whatever the highest is). I don't want to have to start all over again, but the speed is to fast to fly in and out of the rings, plus I usually end up starting the race 21 K away! Is there a way around it? Please someone help me!

Don't you ever use F2 (or GOTO), That will NOT work.

Step 1. When the race starts, press the THRUSTER for like 2/3 seconds MAX
Step 2. then goto CRUISE speed.
Step 3. Follow the WAYPOINTS.

Hovis will make a small error in fying halfway the track.

However, there IS a way around the race but you should really try to do this a few times before you're going cheat your way past the Hovis race.

But please, use the SEARCH function before you start to post topics. The Hovis race has been covered so many times now. I don't mind posting tips, everyone wants to help everyone, but posting tips about the Hovis race for the XXXXXth time gets a bit..uhmmm annoying.

Hope this helps

I'm assuming your game is modded? If so thats the price you pay.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea for melting down coins to make a giant robotic parrot was a bad idea, I would have one kicka$$ giant robotic parrot.

In an unmodded game the race is easy, unless perhaps you've ended up flying a cow. I lost the first time because the little "surprise" at the end literally threw me off and I lost sight of that final waypoint. So my advice for that last stretch is to just focus on the waypoint and ignore anything else.

It's simple. Make sure you have a light fighter, then hold your fingers over shift+w. When you click the button to start the race, press the keys immediately to enter cruise mode. Take the inside corners of each ring, but avoid crashing into them. When you're attacked, drop Countermeasures if you feel like you need to draw their missile fire away. You'll always win if you follow these rules, and cruise all the way!

I love my cruise engines...

First thankyou all for replying. Second i Did look up the race, but found no pointers about how to beat it with the "modded" version, that was the key. With the mod, its a tad hard to fly through all the rings at 30000 cruise speed, It all turned out well though cos I just did the race on thrusters, meanwhile he flew off the race coarse at 50billion miles. Thanks anyway.
