Not when you have a 4 button mouse

1. Select object
2. Fire
3.a 1st function: Cruise -
3.b 2nd function: accelerate/decellarate
4 Tractor beam

My 3th button is a mousewheel AND a clickable button

I don't use missle weapons or mines. So I only need the keyboard for docking ;D

i use a 5 button mouse its the Microsoft intellimouse optical usb.($30 US) its a great mouse it has got thumb and pinky buttons plus clickable scroll wheel/button its got good prechison(sp?).

now how i got those buttons mapped is:

Thumb: after burnner
left button: select
wheel/button: speed control/engine kill
right: fire
pinky: cruise disruptors

so i can practilly fly with one hand.
having the AB mapped to the thumb is the best way when my logitech mouse died i went to a 2 button mouse it drove me nuts not having AB on the mouse

Damn, I got stuck with a simple scroll mouse

Still Entropy, I take it 3b is your thruster then, or it still wouldn't work as you explained

OK, Daft question here..

I can't "un-map" button one... It's still stuck to "Hold down for Mouse flight thingy" and it's greyed out on my option to change it...
Also fire is on right mouse (I've got used to it, but I'd prefer left!)

Nickless: Yeah, I remapped that key to the thruster just for that race. Scroll up gives power to the thruster, scroll down stops the thruster, then I click the same button for cruise speed. It really works like a charm.

aah, ofcourse. I keep forgetting you can actually change the key mapping during a game
