please help stuck

i can't seem to get thru the mission where i have to race hovis, can anyone shed some light

Buy the ship they sell at the station there. When you start the race, look at the ring beyond the one you're flying to. Fly to te corner of the ring nearest to the next ring... If that makes any sense...

Just do a search for "Hovis" in the search forums link. There's a lot of tips on how to get past it, including hacking the game, or just buy the light fighter at that base and try it with that, a Cavalier, I think.

i can't see how people can't beat the race i did it on my first attempt but then again i guess i was just lucky

Do it as if you were driving. Go into the bends wide and cut the corner. If you get alongside Hovis, ram him a little

, he doesn't seem to mind.

When I first raced him I thought he lost because of a scripted event, there's no need whatsoever to cheat or hack... apart from anything else, it takes the fun outta it...

empty the cargo hold. start up your cruise as soon as you can and don't try to beat hovis just do the race

also if you pass hovis he will turn on some gun plats on you just ignore them and fly the rest of the race

controll is the key word i have an optical mouse and it does not seem to work the greates for this game controll wise bit choppy

use the strafe commands.

i beat it on my first try in a half-full clydesdale.

I've got an another Problem. My cruise flight always sucks up. After several checkpoints stops my cruise flight and it reinitialize. This happens multiple times in the race. It's always happens when I fly behind Hovis.

Speed, are you using 'Go to' mode? That is the only occasion I can think of where the game drops you out of cruise (happens when the nav computer has problems with obstacles). If so, try mouse flight (use shift-w to activate cruise).
