I don't know if anyone has ever mentioned it to you, but it is really very rude and mean to make fun of someone who is having difficulty with something you have found easy. It understand it makes you feel better about yourself, but it does so at the cost of other peoples feelings. Constructive advise on how you accomplished it is useful, the rest is not.

Huh??! Could you please specifically point out where the heck i made fun of him in my posting? I just presented him the fact that, indeed, some of the later missions are an awful lot harder than the race. Further i gave him a few hints how to beat the race and tried to cheer him up by saying that it's easy if you follow these hints. Again, please point out where i made fun of him. And if you meant the "I don't understand why so many people have problems with the race" part: that's not supposed to make fun of him either, but is just a question i truly keep asking myself.

Congrats for beating that SOB Hovis.

The race isn’t difficult. If you can’t get past it you are doing something fundamentally wrong. Look more than one ring ahead, use your cruise engines and don’t hit anything. Clip the apexes. Do that and you will win because the game is designed that way. He throws the race for crying out loud.

I have played that race at least 10 times, I've only lost to him once! Which was my very first try and i diddnt really know what i was doing and kept missing checkpoints. Its probably the easiest level in the game. I'm sure its because people are playing the game at low framerates, Thats what was giving my friend a lot of trouble.

After a dozen tries, I changed my mouse sensitivity and that is what did it for me.

Geez, I didn't even think twice on this mission.
As soon as the race started I hit Cruise and just stayed to the 'inside' of the track. Hovis and I bumped a couple of times, but, hey! Rubbin's racin'.

I won the first time, and didn't even look back.

I didn't even realize it was an issue with people 'til I saw this thread.

Yea, that the part I hated the most about the race. You wrren't allowed to touch each other a lot, and of course he seems to try and run into you almost every chance he gets. :/

I eventually won by flying through the very bottom(sppose top would've worked) of the hoops just so the manic wouldn't ram his ship into mine causing me to lose.

I beat that dumb race with a Bretonian fighter on the second try.

The worst part about that race was the people yelling- "Cmon, CMON!!!"
So I said,"SHYADUP!!!"
I started my heavy thrusters and bam! Hovis that old fool didnt stand a chance.

what really helps is if ya strafe slide into the rings so the next one lines up through the first.

lol that race was sooo easy...i had a crusader...all i did was start cruise engines has soon has he said go and i was in 1st place from gate 1 to ummm..finish

Yeah I don't understand what the fuss is I have won the race on every occassion in several ships?

Maybe it's a bug for some people?

For me it was a piece of cake.

Sorry boys I had to kick this back up to the top as for some reason, I couldn't get my computer to link it to a question from a newbe. So I had to kick it back up top to do my task for me again sorry about that.
