One of the best trade line for level 14 in game (you know, you arrive in kyushu..) is Mactan (Cardamine) to Rochester (Engines components).
You are neutral with everyone except police.
Using Magellan-New York Gate, and Texas jump hole in Bad lands, you can do Mactan- Rochester - Mactan in 12 min.
With a dromedary, each turn pay back 313225 $.
So, in an hour, you can gain more than 1.5 million $.
And, nearly no risk.

whoever said Yanagai-New Berlin was close, but they got the cargo wrong.

It's Cardamine from Yanagai and Engine Components from New Berlin, it's been clocked at over 4 mil an hour in a Humpback.

Hmmm... Sabre, empty hold, Wyrm2s/Nomad Cannons, ~3/4 load of both nanobots and shield batteries. Take missions with Outcasts/Zoners somewhere in Omicron systems - usual fee ~100K/mission, plus you normally pick up at least half the hold of stuff plus weapons plus machinery plus nanobots/shields at 200/pop (don't forget to sell the excess before next mission!) - you net ~200-300K in about 5 minutes flat. Repeat ad noseum. The only question is - then what? What is it you are going to do with the money?...

Yes, you're right except ship and perhaps cheating.
Humpack is an level 20 ship, and when you reach level 14 in the game, you are in Khusari.
As it is the first time you can get the dromadary at Mactan, you can make quickly some money without travel until Rheinland. (And you're not supposed to know Jump and hole 's gates between to TAU31 at that moment).

So, I think it is one of the best trade route in Level 14, because:
- you know Mactan and you know Magellan-NewYork Gate.
- In Mactan, you can learn with bribe where is Buffalo (and Cortez).
- In Buffalo, you can learn where is Texas jump hole.
- And after mission2, You can find Rochester in Texas by mining.
So, no cheat, no map...
If you make nearly 3 millions at that time, you can reach level 38 directly when you finish game .

After having time to try these routes posted here. 3 are best depending on how long you want to go. All totals are in a Dromedary. This is also for multiplayer where you have no restrictions on where you can go. I'm sure someone has something that I haven't tried that is better, but these are all very effective.

Best Short Route:
Yanagi, Sigma 13-Planet New Berlin with Cardamine
Planet New Berlin-Yanagi, Sigma 13 with Engine Components
312,950 profit in about 5 or 6 minutes

Best Medium Route:
Manhattan-Ainu Depot, Hokkaido with Luxury Consumer Goods
Ainu Depot, Hokkaido-Manhattan with Cardamine
544,225 profit in about 20 minutes

Best Long Route:
Manhattan-Planet Baden Baden, Stuttgart with Luxury Consumer Goods
Freiburg Station,Stuttgart-Planet New Tokyo with Diamonds
Planet New Tokyo-Planet Cambridge with Engine Components
Planet Cambridge-Manhattan with Luxury Food
1,240,800 profit in about 45 minutes

There is no player flyable Kusari gunboat in Freelancer. He must have been playing a mod. There are plenty of mods that include the Kusari gunboat and any number of other Freelancer or custom ships.

THE best trade route in the game is pittsberg buy boron as much as possible then go to the magellan gate (in the badlands) go to leeds sell all boron at LD-14 then reapeat this is the best cause its so quick and legal the best sheild is the adv champion Lv 10 sheild 11890 Hp and recharge of 294 : ) cant remember where : (

The best shield that you CAN BUY is the adv. Brigandine positron shield which you can get from the Omicron systems. The adv. Champion is an NPC only shield that can only be gotten through mods.
