What Next? Things you''d like to see..

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm kinda bored. I've done just about everything you can do. After the storyline, you're left with either running goods or killing people and exploring. Personally if they do an addon I'd like to see more options.

Getting paid to clear mine fields
Smuggling people, VIPs, Prisoners
Make it possible to comepletly destroy factions, and have the AI create new ones
Have it where the AI will build new stations, trade lanes, Jump Gates, etc.
More systems
More Ships
More Weapons

Crap, now I've got idea block. Ya'll post your thoughts or ideas, maybe someone will listen to us.

A new faction that builds new kinds of jump gate or jump hole design?

We are able to create jump hole using a very powerful weapon to create something like time anomaly and caused the fabrication of time to mess up, therefore linking a system to another system?

New kind of weapon?
-weapon that can temporary shut down enemy ships
-weapon that is so powerful, that needs full concentration to shoot it, maybe like turnin off the shield and gather a force infront of the ship(like behind the ship, when charging for cruise) and shoot out a big torpedo-look-alike matter onto the target?
-how bout gauss weapon? or is the photon = gauss?

New kind of shield?

Able to hire mercenaries during trade runs? or for whatever reason?

New alien ships? or life-form? or base?

Bigger capacity freighter?

An entirely new class of ship?

Able to fly a Gunboat/Cruiser/Battleship?

Able to join a faction permanently and a new system of gaining ranks inside that faction?

Planets/bases can be brought? Personal base?

And a cutscene that shows the main character gets married with Juni and have alot of children and lived happily ever after?

That's all the lame ideas i can think of...let's hear more!!

Things I'd like to see:

1) A new generation of light fighters. Sure, starflyers are jokes, but in the right hands, a Banshee is hell on earth. Give us light fighters with 8/10 power grids, and people will quit ONLY flying VHFs. Some will really start looking at light fighters as a viable option again.

2) A VHF for each of the major governments. I want a Liberty VHF.

2) Contracts that involve flying escort for freighters, lifters, and trains.

3) The ability for (player-controlled) freighters to hire fighter escort.

4) A campaign where you can take different paths depending on which factions you have good relations with.

5) The option to threaten freighters and make them drop their cargo.

another idea: Smuggling ships to other bases. Im sure you can carry a fighter or two in the humpback freighter, then sell it for a nice price on some junker base or something....

Things I'd like to see........

Better weapons adding on to what others said.......(personally a missile with the fire power of a Firestalker and the speed and turn rate of a Hornet)

The ability to destroy bases and large ships, (like the numoerous battleships in Bretonia, Liberty and Kusari.)

Finally, perhaps an option to join a faction? Or like with the war in Omega 5....to like signup and fight for one side etc.

yeah I just sold my banshee =( I loved that ship! but i had to get something with higher class weaps, something that could mount my class 10's. Another thing id like to see in the game? attacking entire fleets... its kinda repetitive fighting the same fighters over and over again.. i wanna engage fleets, battleships, fleet to fleet combat, maybe even pilot a cruiser? More torpedo classes definatly, and maybe bomber class ships. I also like the idea of hiring people to protect you and your ship on trade runs, my god that humpback is so flipping hard to turn, and if you use turrentsm you pretty much cant avoid their fire....

@dozer: Gauss <> photon.
Gauss weapons accelerate small projectiles using very strong magnets sorted in a spiral tube by ascending order (strongest/biggest magnet on the tube exit).
Photon blasters are in fact pulse laser weaons that have multiple laser sources of different wavelenghts that fire simultaneously.

I wrote this because you used up all the constructive ideas...

There'd better be Hypergates.

Each hypergate should have 5 or 6 (mabye more) destinations that you can choose between after you enter the gate.

Have a regular storyline that you really need to complete before you go Freelance the whole thing and then it gives the option to either go Freelancing or join 1 of a couple of options for factions, like you can join the Order, Corsairs, Outcasts, and some other creative options, then once you choose one of those factions to join you will get a SP Campaign based on what one you joined. Example: You join the Outcasts, Mission 1: Smuggle some Cardamine to New York under the guise of Cryer Pharmasueticals attempting to create a harmless alternative to the drug.

Make it so over time (possibly time or level increase or missions completed) things get built or destroyed. Like the Hokkaido -> Chugoku jumpgate and the Trade Lanes in that system, either they get finished or the Blood Dragons blow it to smithereens. (Latter more interesting eh?)

Add new levels of ships and such, like a Level 11 ship.

New Mission Types (Randon and Campaign):
-Recon
-Research
-Scrap clean-up (Think Junker)
-Cargo Transport
-Passenger Transport
-Patrols (THey give you a set of way points you have to go around once or twice and you must engage any criminals and aid anyone under attack by pirates)

You can use a MG,MC,cannon and you can buy a BS,put a ship you like inside you can moor your BS and lanch your ship and land/dock with it or when your BS almost blow up lunch your ship as a lifecraft and blow the thing that blow your BS up.

I would like to see some kind of dynamic economy.

If you bring alot of goods to a planet the prices should shrink. Aso..

In adition there should be some sort of system to get the updated prices. IE they are uploaded to all the gates and transported to your ship when you enter system. And it can be transfered from ship to ship.

This might be a radical change, but it would make trading a whole new business.

More freighter ships with larger cargo capacity. Maybe giving freighters an AI "flight" option in combat so it can fly itself while you man the turrets. I've noticed repair ships flying around, what if you could get a repair ship that you could load up with weapons and ships that are damaged would come to you for repairs and would give you credits for repair and weapons. Or maybe repair and freight missions instead of combat only.

What I wouldl really like (in maybe Freelancer 2 ??) is the abillity to land/ dock manually. Cut off your normal engines and use thrusters for the final landing on the planet and also: descending trough the atmosphere and seeing your heatshield light up.

I don't know.. I guess I just like doin it Sabre-style.
