If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

It seems to me that after the single player campaign it is as thhough the campaign never happened.
For example Rheinland had a massive fleet including at least 30 captital ships yet when the story finishes they say that the Westfalen is the only battleship that survived the 80 year war!
Although the events of the campaign are hidden from the general public you think that they would they would remember your role. Eg I bet if today you blew up two of a nations warships, recieved a pardon and came back that every one would be happy to see you.

Anyway I'm rambling so i'll just say that the reason Rheinland is bankrupt is not because their repaying Liberty but because they built and lost a score of battleships in two weeks!

How did the GMG hold out for 80 years anyway?

It's simple:
-- Set Brain to OFF
-- Set Reflexes to ON
-- Set Game to ON
-- Enjoy the Game
-- Optionally: Set School, Work, and Family to OFF nad repeat the previous line until exausted to near-death stage...

I know I know but you do agree that it would be better if some of the background was more logical.
Oh well

Great game though

Well if you look at the GMG weapons and the ships they use......(good class 9 weopons and Falcons and Eagles), it wouldn't be hard to imagine they could do some heavy damage to Rheinland. Although I do agree there was that part in the Campaign where you first go through Rheinland space and it seemed at every little tradelane exit there were two Battleships and about 40 more gunboats......

If you have ever read the news network in Rhineland during the single player campaign, you would see that the news is full of propoganda. Titles like "Heroic Chancellor Stands Firm" and "Jacobi A Traitor" are pretty funny to read. Stop by Rhineland and read a few.

Hi, I'm new but I'll just throw my hand in here...

Yeah, I really liked the news bulletins - made you feel like you were part of the universe. You could see all the propaganda and see how things were escalating into war. There's no benefit in knowing that a Lane Hacker won a surfing championship in LA but it's just part of the so-called 'dynamic universe'.

And then I finished SP and there were no more news bulletins - apart from the ones that had always been there such as "Squatters in Denver" etc. It would have been great if there had been some events that occured over time (e.g. after X hours after finishing SP, there's a disaster or there's a battle between the Corsairs and one of the House Navies). This sort of thing would not only have made it seem as though the universe was actually a moving, changing thing but also would make for some interesting changes in the House systems. Maybe the Corsairs would finally attack Rheinland like the news articles say in the Omega systems and you'd see more gunboats and military patrols for a while. Well, perhaps in the expansion pack eh?

it's a game it doesn't really matter if things don't make total sense

Personally I think believability makes a story enjoyable. If a story has plot holes so big you can drive a Mack truck through it, it ain't a good story.
