Being a pirate in early SP

Someone asked this question in the main forum, and a mod/knowledgable guy/whatever said "if you had asked this in spoilers, I'd have an answer for you." Well, here's the thread ;-)

So how do I do it? How do I find Rochester Base, and make the people there like me? How do I find other pirate bases so I can buy their ships and equipment?

This kind of information can be found by looking in the stickys. Such as the info below. Shurely you are not askin for every damn pirate base in the game are you?

And no, I'm not asking for every damned pirate base in the game, just how to get my foot in the door (since you start being liked by the cops and disliked by most bandit factions). The USS Missouri is the key then.

Or just go blow up some of the supply depots outside Liberty bases. That will get you liked by pirates pretty quick. Of course the police will want your head if you destroy too many.
