Neutralize most faction''s rep

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Neutralize most faction''s rep

Is this even possible?
So far I had achieved alittle of this by doing these:

1. During the 1st and 2nd missions, I went to the Junkers at Rochester Base and bribed them 1 time, so my rep with most of the other criminal factions went up abit. Afterward, I do some missions for them, all of it targetting the Xenos faction. Kills ships, assasinate, etc. Till all my rep with the criminal Factions became neutral. Furthermore, doing this didnt hurt the 'good' side faction's rep too cos Junkers are mostly acceptable to most.

2. Around mission 5 or 6, when I'm in Bretonia space, I went to Trafalgar and do alot of missions for the Junkers, but only missions that requires me to kill the Bounty Hunters. I do those missions until all my rep with the big time criminals in Bretonia become atleast neutral to me. Which means even Xenos, Mollys, Corsairs and the rest became neutral rep. I take care not to kill too much of the random Bounty Hunters, cos this will lower my rep with the 'good' faction. Why? Becos during this phase, me and Juni are wanted by the Liberty police/military and the Bounty Hunters too. SO that's a good reason for killing them now, cos later you'll get pardoned...

3. Okay, my experiment is only as far as this point, as I'm still trying out this strategy, if you would call this strategy, till mission 7. So far I am having trouble with the Hogosha becos there's no Junkers presence in Kusari. I rely alot on the Junkers to help raise my rep in the criminal world. So anybody know what to do to raise the Hogosha rep without lowering others?

If this work out, it means I would be neutral to all faction by the end of all missions. This means mostly uninterupted trade to anywhere.... lol

Yeah, i'm trying a similar thing and currently i'm at bretonia, I have a feeling though, that when you get your pardon your rep with LSF and other militrys will go up so much the criminals will hate you anyway.

I'm in mission 8 now and my rep with the Bounty Hunters just went to Neutral and it didnt affect any of the criminals faction rep. The criminal faction nearest to Hostile is Mollys at half a square left.

The problem for me now is the Hogosha. Their rep is 1 and ¼ into Hostile. I need something to neutralize that...I'm thinkin of going back to some system near Liberty's space and take up some missions at the criminal bases. This I think will help raise my rep with Hogosha, but I fear I might drag my Bounty Hunter's rep down. Their rep with me is not so bad now, but I fear it will as soon as I start blowing Liberty Navies.

I just started a new MP character for an experiment and got to lvl12 without killing any ships except Xenos (about 275 ships I think) and without doing any missions (because finishing a mission improves your rep with the faction you got it from, so your rep goes down with their enemies)

Now everyone is neutral or friendly. Apart from Xenos. They don't like me much.

It's surprising how much your rep changes from doing missions. If you do a mission for the Libert Police, your rep goes down a lot against Rogues if you succeed, even if the mission is against Rogue enemies like Xenos.

Try just flying round killing your chosen faction's enemy ships, not doing missions, and your rep with get to neutral a lot quicker.

Um, isn't it sort of pointless to spend a lot of time working on your rep in SP since the missions often change the reps as needed for each mission anyway? Like when the entire Liberty Navy hates you, and then when you become neutral with some of the gangs because you have to be?

Just wondering why all the effort, at least during the missions. Especially since after the campaign, you reps get reset anyway.

Well not really, I finished the SP missions and you know what?
All the criminal reps are now hostile, but only half a square into it, while my Bounty Hunter's rep is Neutral.

This means, I just need to head to the nearest Junkers base and do some missions for them to kill Bounty Hunters and finally all the rep with ALL factions, I repeat, ALL factions become neutral. Even Corsairs/Xenos/Red Hessians/Samura/GMG/Zoner/etc.

Cool eh?

Yep, I did it, not a single faction is hostile with me, the worst, which is the nearest to hostile is the Xenos. Around a quarter of a square left before hostile.
Btw, my advice is: Junkers are your friends!

As you have discovered it is possible to be neutral with all. Howver IMHO it is a bit of a let down when you finally achieve it, you may as well be watching one of those IMAX space movies for all the excitement you get I know its cool for exploration but then you've explored everywhere etc. and there doesnt seem much point cruising around etc... anyway...

What (i think) remains to be achieved is getting hostile with everyone. DA claim in an interview somewhere on this site that it is possible. I'm suspicious but it would be hellish hard to try it.

Not sure if I'd want to do that...........if that happened..........you have to be one pretty damn good pilot with a lot of luck cause you'd never be able to fix your ship.........And once you get rid of one group of good fighters........another comes in right after them with only a few moments rest....

Yeah, after being neutral with all faction, all i'm doing now is searching for wrecks and the easter egg planets. But it's kinda nice too cos you're able to dock at any station, infact, i dont think trading will much problem now!

Anyway, if you really want to be hostile with everyone, you can start by doing missions for the Xenos, afterward, go and launch some torpedoes on the Xenos base. Soon afterward, so go around and shoot everything that move. That should make you hostile with EVERYONE!

I'll have to experiment with the reps right after the campaign. I always assumed they were script controlled because after finishing the campaign you are no longer enemies with most of the Libery factions that were enemies after the Navy guy gets killed. Also, factions I was friendly or at least neutral with were now enemies. In fact, I know for sure that during the missions some of the reps are adjusted because otherwise you wouldn't be able to finish the missions, like when you go to Blood Dragon, Lane Hacker, and Outcast bases. At the end, you're no longer enemies with the LIberty Navy, so something doesn't make sense.

I've also read somewhere else on this forum that rep changing during the SP campaign is pointless because of the mission scripting...although perhaps the script just resets you to what you were before any mission specific scripting was done. Is anyone fully aware with how the mission scripts work that can verify/disprove this?

I'd actually prefer to just be neutral at the end of the SP campaign so I can choose my own fate without all the work involved in changing opinion. Besides, since I just saved the universe, you'd think I'd have more friends...
