Go and look for the jump gates. It should be at the end of tradelanes. Look for tradelanes that has name like 'Base so and so --> so and so jump gate'

when you get to the jump gate, dock with it.

If you have done the mission , King should had told you how to use the jumpgates.

Use the nav map, because without it, you can actually get lost if you depend on visual navigation alone.

Unpro's information is the best... you should follow the trade lane till it's end and you should see something that looks like a mechanical version of the worm head from Dune. Click on it and hit F3 to dock.

Or alternatively a longer method. In your bottom left HUD display, were it lists enemies. Click on the option down there that shows everything or just bases. You may see a list that includes jump gates. Click on one of them in the list and this should "target" it. Now spin around to face the purple diamond. and fly towards it. Eventually you will reach the gate. F2 "goto" would put you in "auto pilot" to fly towards the selected target and will avoid obsticles.

Course, learning the function keys to the game is a big help. I'd get familiar with the F-keys from your manual (Middle of the booklet).
