Life after the nomads...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Sounds like a few people need to have a look at the mods out there

Or get into it yourself. Play the game until you're bored, then mod in a load of extra things. New ships, new missions, new weapons, new systems, it's all out there available to lengthen your freelancing experience.

I've had 4 "characters" playing through to level 38 with about 50 hours on each (light fighter specialist, freighter flyer, pirate etc)

Then spent another 50 or so hours learning how to mod and added lots of things in - then started again with a completely different game.

After about six weeks of playing, and some 400 or so hours, I'm still not bored. I think I may start another game soon.

People enjoy things differently - some like to play through to the end and then try another game. Some like to know absolutely everything there is to know about the game before moving on. With a bit of imagination Freelancer can last a lot longer than you may think.

But, whatever floats your boat. It's only a game, there are other things to do in life.

i think the vastness of space makes the game drag when you want to find places. it just takes too long to go anywhere....

I suppose like most people i'm slightly bored now, But thats probably my old age showing, When i first bought elite for the BBC, I played almost solid for 4 years amassing a fortune of over 200 billion credits, and still only managed to get to "deadly" status.
Instead of levels, freelancer could have chosen a reputation level instead, that would have kept peoples attention for longer than just what is now implemented, Maybe one of the numerous mods allows for this, I don't know.

Personally now that I've achieved a few million credits, a sabre, and class 10 weapons, And the ability to be able to out dogfight almost any ship in the game, I've taken on the role as "bad guy", because I want a Titan, I've realised the only way to make the corsairs friendly towards me, Is to do missions against the bounty hunters, Rather ironic that I've become a bounty hunter seeking bounty from the destruction of bounty hunters.
Since the corsairs have No allies, this is the only way to appease them and make them like me.
Already after destroying a few B/hunters in their hammerheads and barracudas, I've noticed my rep with the corsairs has gone up a few notches, So another hundred or so kills should be enough for them to be my best buddies.
Maybe I'll take on the police and military in each system next, that should make transversing systems very interesting indeed.

"Stop the world! I wanna get off !"

Attacking Bounty Hunters is not the only way to appease the Corsairs. I started attacking Red Hessians, and the Corsairs became first Neutral, then eventually friendly enough to offer missions to me to attack the Red Hessians. Now, I am good with Bounty Hunters (my role in the game) and Corsairs.

The most fun way to get friendly with the Corasirs is simply head towards omicron gamma, and blast all the freighters/escorts and any police that get in your way, by the time you get there they'll treat you like a long lost relitive

I have one character that's in the process of being totally in the green with all criminals and totally red with all police/military/house factions, certainlly makes traveling around sirius interesting...
