Isnt it to the west? The actual site is due west of the sun in a highly radiocative (but not green) field of debris. It has dark matter clouds to the north and south of it and a jumphole to California where the jumpagte is assumed to have been.

I'll reveal the true reason why the jumpgate blew up: Back in those days I was still flying my Crusader and doing some pirating. I realised that I never seen a large transport from ALG Waste Disposal burn and that's why I fired a torpedo towards one of these ships. It turned out that this ship was about to dock with the jumpgate. The large amounts of toxic waste the ship was carrying caused a malfunction when it came in contact with the interior of the gate, causing the burning transport as well as the gate itself to be blown to bits. It's a good thing I got away in time!

i got cordinates from a bounty hunter for depot in there or something then when i got their really were remnats of some sort of staition
