Nomad...Turrets?

Heres an interesting one, Nomad Turrets, not lootable, but they drop sometimes....
Glitch I guess, but my friend managed to get two of them. (He couldn't trade it/drop it though, because it isn't lootable I guess) odd bug, but I like! Anyone else manage this?

This surely had to be in a mod? The only other nomad weapon is the nomad laser which never drops. What do you mean by not lootable?

looking in the INIs, objects are either lootable (May fall when ship is destroyed ) or not.

He manged to get two nomad turrets, really weird. he tried to trade with me, so I could have one, but it wouldn't work. it was a unmodded server, un-modded INIs. He said that he ran into some other nomad ship, not a cruiser, but didn't look like a fighter, and it dropped them. I dunno, I saw the turret though, so he DID get one. I'm thinking some kind of weird glitch that he got it.
