What do you think will happen in the Expansion?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

How about Freelancer goes old school (In the Universe, at least) with Freelancer: The 80 Year War or Freelancer: Taming of the Sirius Sector. In the 80 Year War, you're a mercenary hired by either side (GMG or Rhineland) and you fight throught the battles of the War (Of course, age not withstanding ), and for Taming of the Sirius Sector, you go out exploring for unknown worlds, and stumble on the Outcasts or Corsairs, or found one of the large corporations like Ageria, Cryer Rx, IMG, BMM, etc...

it will be a completely new game, called Freelancer Online, with persistant 13,95$/month servers

HELL NO! It would be a shame if that happens. Imagine all the new games you could buy if you played this game for about 6 months or so. I really think MMP games are a waste of money.

i think the expansion will involve a war involving the angry remnants of the Hispania and the existing houses. Bringing back the nomads would be lame, and the Corsairs/Outcasts storyline is more interesting. All they need are some new systems, some sweet new ships and a couple of heavily armed, really pissed off factions.

And how about some missions where you escort freighters or move special cargo from system to system?

where are all the sexy space sluts?

I'd like to see a dynamic economic system, where rumors give you an idea of where prices are heading. Large shipments drive prices down for a period of time. Trading should be a risky proposition, even before you hit space.

well... I reckon the expansion will include:

An extra 10 classes for equipment (so there's now 20 classes)

At least 15 new systems in the Nomad Sector

Some new ships, maybe battleships?

The ability to hire people to help you out with missions, adding a more tactical element

I know there are mods: but why not BEAM WEAPONS??!!

Freighter missions, like someone else mentioned

More mission types! Like for Rogues: raid convoy or for the police: Escort convoy.

Big missions, like full scale 300 ship wars like on X-Wing vs TIE fighter

A bigger and better multiplayer allowing u to go to level 99 and get loads of hidden items

I reckon all of these could be included in an expansion and it would patch up all the problems that we have founds with Freelancer

1) You'll have to defend the Red Dragon's base from an attack from the prototype Kursari Cruiser which can Jump without the use of Jump gates/holes.
2) Ageira being quite unhappy about the Kursari Navy reverse-engineering their Jump gate technology.
3) Outcasts becoming something more unhuman, under the control of the Nomads/Dom Vovash
4) Break-up of Rheinland with people leaving and invasion by Corsairs
5) Zoners losing Freeports 9 and 10 (And maybe more) to Corsairs/Outcasts.
Just some thoughts, all backed up by various rumours/news reports in the game.

a good one indeed feath according to the rumors this things just might happen and i think the Chugoku jum gate construction site will actually finish building so that our 100 hours of transporting gete parts are really worth it.. LOL

argh.. im never gonna get paid.. goodbye a million credits..

There will probably neva b an expansion

Post Fri May 02, 2003 11:04 pm

Like someone else said... I WANT A DAMN BATTLESHIP!!! The mods that let you use battleships are buggy and pathetic, to say the least. It's fun flying a Liberty cruiser around and blowing !@#$ up, but it gets boring fast without other battleships to fight...

maybe a new age of war in the serius sytstem between houses in the begin

the order falls apart by this war

after a while the nomads come back to "drink a cofee"

and then they destoy some stars in the systems where they r

2 houses still stand against thus nomads and make a new time for the order, who attacks the nomads again, and founded a total new world, where the 2 remaned houses come and make new their own civilication

u can also go back to the almost destroyed sirius system...

stardust has it spot on, i would also like a MUCH longer SP campaign, maybe several of the same length as freelancer's solitary one for different sides. there should be more player interaction with the AI ships that just fly around, ie if you help some out when they are attacked they thank you and give you some reward or something, instead of just ignoring your prevention of the destruction of their freighter trains. and of course, a more diverse selection of missions and much more variety to keep the freelancing at the end of the campaign section going fdor longer, for those of us with no good internet connection.

An expansion would probably have a few new poorly designed ships, worthless low-class weapons and a few Tau-37 sized systems looking like a miniature Bretonia with an average of 1.5 bases in each of them

Post Fri May 23, 2003 2:07 am

Ok this is what happens:
1)nomads come back with a full scale invasion
2)Orillion steals another high-teck ship and defends the sirius sector from the nomads. he also comes back to trent and asks him to defend the universe 1 more time
3)the order gathers every force in the sirius sector to invade the nomad source and destroy them all
4)the order make hundreds of osirises(only not all called osiris)
5)more ships
6)more weapons
7)more mp options
8)longer sp storyline
9)custom ship builder that way freelancer wont crash because of ships made by milkshape (that would be cool)
10)do missions for order against nomads in mp
11)way more factions
12)the order finds the dom'kvash group
thats all i can think of for right now

Here's what i'd like to see.

You get an expansionpack where you are now able to actually join factions, not just be friendly with them. Let's call it Freelancer: Factions. At the beginning of the game you have a few factions, say 5-10, to choose from and each, yes each, will have a unique single player campaign. There is some room for an overall plot that ties the sp of all factions together but they'd all relate to that plot in their own way. Pirates might not join in if something is threatening the houses for instance.

The factions i want would be an 'evil' pirate faction(like outcasts or corsairs), good pirates(blood dragons or such), Bounty hunters, Police(which has the highest likelyhood of being boring) and then as a freighter pilot for any of the big corporations.

Call me crazy but i think it could be fun.

What would be niec to see in addition to a dynamic economy would eb dynamic politics between factions. Who the hell needs an explansion that scripts a war in single player if you could have the ai factions every once in a while tearing at each other. Hell it might even make it worthwhile to read the news in game. It would be interesting if nations got mad at each other and embargoed one another, and then prices would go up and you could make money smuglling **** over the borders. It woudl make things alot more interesting, besides once in a while it would be neat to see Libery and Rhineland get sick of each other and have battles in bearing while the helpless zoners get the crap scared out of them

Post Fri May 23, 2003 4:17 pm

Set 60 years after FL the Order would get wiped out by a Nomad Assault who are then made obselteby the return of the Dom K'vosh Frigate and are shut down, meaning that nobody in Sirus would be aware of their arrival. The DKV would be angered at the reactivation of the Hyper Gates would infrom the others of what is occuring. They would launch scours and begin to prey upon some of the outer systems by secretly spreading a dormant virus through out the sector which when activated Liquifies Organic material within 36 hours. While this is going on the Corsairs begin their delayed assault on Rhineland forcing the Military and Hessians to form an unlikely Alliance to attempt stop them while Rhineland rebuild their fleet. Liberty and (the now much better armed) Brettonia will be in the middle of a conflict over Liberty funding the Corsairs attacks into Rhineland fearing that the Corsairs will move on Dublin if Rhineland fails to rearm in time.
In response to the huge conflicts going on in Southern and Western Sirus Kusari would then strengthen their army by training thousands of Samuri to pilot a new generation of Ultra nimble Starfighters and Assemble Huge Carrier Groups in order to protect itself.

Basically LOTs of fighting, betrayal and an Alien prense not disimilar from the Nephilim in WCP. Before you ask, no the Virus wouldn't be the DKV's main way of invading Sirus, just to devide the Colonists attention so that a task force could arrive.

Hopefully it'll be along those lines.
