Freighters & shields lvl 8 - 9 - 10

Can someone explain what is the point of having Freighter shields lvl 8, 9 & 10 available for purchase when the highest shield you can mount is lvl 7 on a Humpback or lvl 6 on a Dromedary?
Are there other freighters we do not yet know of?

As far as I know, no, there are no other freighters. This does not make sense to me either. I love flying cargo, I wish they would come out with some more freighters with higher level capabilities in an expansion pack/patch.

Same boat at the Light Fighters, none exist that support these shields. Maybe they will be incorperated later on with an expansion pack/sequil. But for now, unless moding/hacking you will just have to window shop.

The only problem with that is nobody drops shields. I believe, as do others here, that those shields that don't fit onto any freighter currently will with the advent of an expansion pack.

The difficult we do immediately; the impossible just takes longer.
