Just Beat Single Player And...

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Just Beat Single Player And...

...I can't believe the way the game "ends" !!! You're left hanging. Granted that's good for a sequel/expansion pack, which I am all for, but still. I mean, afterwards, you are a hero of the colonies, and the instructions you get are to "go find a job." So I go to the bar, expecting him to know me, and he's like, "you new here?" Trent goes "Yeah, sure." Riiiiiiiiiight....Edison Trent is new here.... Whatever! Also, I like how it resets the reputation back to the default (that was supposed to be dripping with sarcasm). Oh well, I'll just wait for the expansion pack I spose.

I'm so sad! I'm leaving the comforting company of King, Juni, Orillion, and all the others. My favorites were Tobias and King. King was just a good old fashion ass whooper military for life guy. He didn't concern himself with the politics. And Tobias, he reminded me of the Professor from the TV Show sliders. Maximillian Arturo. Which made me wonder if John Ryes Davies did the voice for the game for Tobias. Anyone know?

Good bye my friends from the storyline plot! I'm going to "go find a job" if you need me, I'll be at the bar trying to find a mission for $4,500 credits on manhattan.

there is still alot to do. when you finnish the story line you are about lvl 18, the best ships require lvl 30+. also you havent seen half of the systems. go trading, or just explore or try MP.

If I had a nickel for every time someone told me that my idea of building a giant robotic parrot out of melted down coins was a bad idea, I would have one kick a$$ giant robotic parrot.

Oh I've been playing multiplayer for a long time. I have a titan with some level 10 weapons and stuff on my server. I have explored the entire galaxy there, and am level 38. I spose I might start doing the same stuff here in the single player. Except try to get in with a different faction. Might be kind of interesting.

I'm actually kind of sad that I've beaten it now. I was really getting into the storyline, like a good movie. My roomate was standing behind me watching me play cheering and what not, and he is not very computer literate, he doesn't play computer games or any video games. It was really kind of comical to hear him standing behind me rooting or cheering:

"look out behind you!"
"Oh god! Another missile!"
"roll right! Right! No left now go left!"
"There's the shield generator!! Launch your torpedos!"
"SHIELD BATS!!! QUICK!!!!"

heheh...you get the picture....

I also enjoyed the story in the game. It reminds me of wing commander III and IV. To bad it didnn't have actors as well. However, it's a really good game. The graphics in the cut scenes could ofcouse have been much better...

I never played those games unfortunately, nor did I play Privateer, which I hear has amazing similarities to freelancer, or rather, the other way around.

My daughter thinks of the game as a book I get to interact with. We have a story, chapters (missions), good and bad guys, etc.

I have to agree with her. The single player portion is like a "book", but I get to be apart of the story and actually get to influence the outcome to a certain degree. ;-)

It would be cool if we could create our own stories or at least side missions, and load them into the SP or even MP portions of the game.

To answer the original question mentioned in the post:

Yes, that is indeed John Rhys-Davies supplying the voice for Richard Winston Tobias.

That is awesome! I love John Ryes Davies! He was excellent in sliders, he was excellent as Gimli in the two Lord of the Rings movies out. It was a sad day in my life when they wrote him out of sliders. Oh well. I wish Tobias would have come back into the storyline at some point. He was pimp!

Then you really should play Wing commander III & IV as he starred as the character Paladin in them, while Malcom McDowell starred as Tolwyn.

I'll have to check out those wing commander games, I never really played them. Multiplayer is really pretty darn fun. That's what I've taken to now. I set up a server for some buddies and I. We are flying around as a pirate group. In the group are two eagles, one titan (my ship), and one sabre. So we have the three best covered. We just need someone with a hammerhead now, I guess, although it doesn't take level 10 weapons, if I remember correctly.

We were fighting nomads last night in the unknown system that you can get to through omicron alpha. Loaded up on nomad blasters and cannons. Those things are wicked.

I'm surprised you guys haven't noticed that George Takei (Sulu) did the voice for Lord Hakkera.
