Lol what is up with these places?!?! After tons of flying around in my suped up eagle with diamondbacks, cerebuses and skyblast B's-minus the lvl 10 shield (Get it from outcasts right?) I stumbled across these couple oddities... One system ....just a sun, what look like large thorn covered branches and nomads...the other, robots...and...MONKEYS! What the heck?!!? MONKIES?!?! LOL And at both bars all the "people" know you, and cant tell you anything?! lol its just wierd. Oh ya nomads there too.... Will these places have anything to do with "hyper-gates" in the future I wonder? They are the only places with nomads in the game it seems. Seems like a couple things the makers added in just for s***s and giggles.
oohh!! what a wonderful surprise!!
Where is it? I can't find it! Tell me the location ASAP!!
do you have any screenshots??
planet with monkeys? got to see this..!
I think your next pos will be about 'OMG!! I found the Hispania!!!'
...and if we are going to work together, call me Juni (wink)...
...yeah, you can call me Trent, Trent the desperate dull square jaw who just lost a million credits..

Unpro, Ease up man. Some peeps out there just bought the game because of that stupid release date.
And Puppeteer. No there is nothing special about both Unknown systems. You can beat the crap out of the nomads there and get the weapons they drop (You have to have a very high level to make them drop the weapons) and land on the planets in the southern Unknown system but other than that. Nothing.
Just a joke from the designers I think.

Ya know what unpro you can piss off, thanks. Degenerates like you are what foul the internet in general. Go back to the self-loathing hole you came from and shoot yourself to rid the populace of your god-forsaken genes.
That now aside: I posted mistakenly in the discussion forum a post that talked about some of the story line and it ended up being relatively unanswered. I was just curious about a couple things and what people think or know:
I know that in during the missions, when the artifact is in the hands of the two scientists that its a map for "hyper-gates." Where/when exactly do these come into play? As an expansion pack? As a sequel? A patch? Its kind of a bummer when you think you can goto all these places but they aren't available. Granted this game rocks, there are TONS of systems to goto, TONS of weapons/ships/technology to be found/had, TONS of exploring to do, the graphics are sufficient and it houses multiple facets of play....but....It was indeed rather easy to "beat." There aren't any other side story lines to pick up on and its not as involved as the old "Privateer" was. If anyone is old enough to remember that KICK ARSE Dos game, it was involved and much more time consuming to reach goals and there was always something going on other than just the "main story" to reach on. I love this game just for that fact that it is a "new-age" Privateer, but the talk about he "hyper-gates" has me wondering what else there is to offer!
I only have one gripe and its reminiscent of the old Privateer (although it did seem to have more variety)....the dialogue. It is sickeningly repetitive to the point that I hit escape everytime now to see what they actually are going to say. So many people so many places you'd think that they'd have SOMETHING DIFFERENT to say there. The only different dialogues I have found are when you talk to a faction you are enemies with. That spices things up a little heh.
Anywho in short: Great game, a little rushed though it seems and where are those dang hyper gates?!
BTW unpro the game has only been out for what...about a month? *rolls eyes* thats soooooo long ago. Gee is it long enough to act like you are the god of the game and act like its totally "old news?" I don't think so. Next time, before you go yappin your flapper and spit forth some worthless spew how about using your one gram of a brain and just zip it?

The Hyper Gates aren't anywhere. You use one only once during SP and that's that. It's strange though because the artifact is supposed to open all Hyper Gates (if I remember correctly) but you can't seem to find them in the Sirius Sector.
I guess Microsoft/Digital Anvil will give more clues about that in the expansion pack coming out in December.

Been a bit now, but if memory holds there were quite a few symbols on the hyper gate map. Think was orillion says something along the lines of "every key has a lock, where is this ones?" They then point to a single symbol and say "there". To me it seems you would need more keys to unlock other gates. Guess we will find out if they ever sequil this. I think a nice massive fleet warp through a Dom Kavosh gate near Sol. Hit whats left of the coalition by surprise and take back our home system. Unless the origional FL intro was correct and Sol was wiped by the nomads. Find out when we get there, hehe.
This "unknown" system sure is make a lot of questions for me.
Well the first time I visited the system I just got the impression of a tunnel with a light at the end (ring a bell?). Then I try something about it. I bought the Sunslayer torp and went to the light (which supose to be a star or a sun of some sort). When I got the warning "entering sun corona" I launch few torps into it. The first round didn't reach the center of the sun, because of the torpedo range limitation. Then I push bit forward until around 2.5K from the sun. Again I launch some torps away but nothing happen. Still curious, I push foward and then...BUMP...my ship stopped. It didn't blew up like when I went to other star.
Now I feel really silly, wasting my time to travel to the light and only get bumped into something unknown.
Oh well then, prob torpedoing some monkeys and robots would cheer me up.
