Noooooo expansion pack

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

I thought that was pretty obvious from the opening cinematics in Starlancer with the Coalition general:

"What should we do with the prisoners, General?"

"Kill them all. We have no time for prisoners."

Is this really typical of the Coaliton or just this General. Would the public feel bad after the shooting war stops?

I've never played Starlancer. Can it be done with a mouse. I have no joystick.

I would like to see the monkey planet attack in a sequel. They would show up in monkey looking ships and make unintelligible grunts at you demanding that you surrender or drop your cargo. They would make a chimpanzee shreik when their ship goes into a spiral before it blows up. Then you could tractor their super-monkey weapons.

Just give me more stuff to blow up. Bigger stuff too.

some expansion packs are good, some are great, and some bite. all the guys at microsoft would have to do is make more types of random missions (trade, battleship killin, escort, ect) more ships, more weapons, better shields or at least add in the ones in the offical guide that aren't in the game, a few more systems, buyable escorts in sp, and anything else that won't take away from the game. now they would have to make an expansion or a buncha patches to add in these things and then Freelancer 2

I didnt wana read all 4 pages of posts so if this was already said oh well, but I would like to see some "defend the base" type random missions in which you man a turret.Kinda like being the B-17 ball gunner in BF42.I think that would be fun.

I my mind, in order for there to be another expansion, there would have to be another large enemy. Fighing off tiny little outcast groups with nothing larger than a dromedrary is kinda weak. 2 possibilities; The obvious coalition ivasion of sirius OR a under-handed move, like a Hispania house forming(Corsairs and outcasts form one together), and then going to war with the other houses. I miss the Huge battle scenes with 20 battleships and hundreds of fighters and you are just one of them. SOOOOO sweet. there needs to be another enemy.Only one enemy. And preferably Human. (I don't mind allied aliens, but they screwed up on the nomads. If we could invent sheilds, then so could they.) The nomads were alright, but there were no huge battles(Other than the escape from alaska) besides there's nothing more fun than blowing the S**t out of some cocky commy flyboy. If there's going to be an expansion, add property purchasing, multiple ship housing, space station/battleship purchasing and non-linear storyline(tow your personal battleship to a fight and blow some nomads out of the sky from a turret on the Battleship kiss my a*s.)The number one elemnt of linear storylines that i hate is mission failing. If you fail an objective, you must retry. what if Juni died early on and you had to figure out where to go on your own?????? alright alrigh i'll shut up now i've entered a HUGE reply, so there's my 10 cents. Now if you'll excuse me i have to kill some Kusari police men(Die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Why don't you go outside and play hide and go F**k your self???

Plenty of ideas here, but the one thing I would definately want in an expansion, especially if there are tons of new systems, places to go etc... would be a dedicated autopilot that could go to anyplace designated. Like the set best path but without me having to tell it to 'go to' each waypoint.

An expansion would be better than a sequel... Look at the mods that people can produce for games in their spare time!

Could you not have more than one possible campaign? depending on the actions of the player?
That would surely be better than having one campaign and unlimited numbers of the same random missions. It would be bigger, but the game is quite small by current standards.

There could be a slowly running storyline that proceeds without your intervention. Perhaps an 'invasion' or whatever that overruns different systems, and fleets wandering around ready to engage. You could come out a jump gate into a battle, fly your favourite trade route to find the planet occupied, or be fooling around the outside systems and find an invasion force. Occupation could be represented by faction changes at bases (in its simplest form), and this could also affect the dynamic economy mentioned in other posts that was a feature of the X games.

I like this idea!
You could have plotted missions, aswell

I have been monitoring this forum for a year or so, and i can say that MUCH more people prefer to have an expansion pack...

I surely agree. Interesting to watch threads.

Anyone know if anyone is still left at Digital Anvil or did they turn the lights out?

ya expansion packs r better cause u will start out with the cool guns and the prototype weapons

May the force be with you, for me, to poop on.

I'd like both, Expansion packs for the extra stuff they let out in the game, and a sequal to have all the fun of starting over from lvl 0 again.

Why must Sirius be invaded? Perhaps it would be nice to INVADE someone else's system? Let Sirius be the badass and not the goody goody people.
