The GMG photon guns can be pretty nasty. You might want to consider using a graviton shield if you go up against them, even though you can only get a maximum of a class-8. The story goes that the GMG defeated the Rhineland military in the 80-years war... so, it's clear that they are a force to be reckoned with.

LMAO what you are bringing up is entirerly based on skill. Iv never been killed in combat threw sp and never been killed in combat after having my level 10 ship in sp and mp. Sabre in this case. The only times I died is when I sum how flyinto a sun corona and my keyboard locks up and I cant escape it! And then there was 1 occasion when I blew my self up with a torp. But I wasnt aware that the game offered more realizim then I expected The GMG have been at war for 80 years. BUT they LOST. I agree they are a formidible force, but not against me. I have no problem fighting them in omicron beta like I most usually do. Maybe you thread to pieces! The best fighters in the game in my opinion are the blood dragons. They are EXTREAMLY reliable and they kik ass. Iv been in situations with other factions when I expect back up from the mission but they never show up. Blood Dragons always deliver maximum whip ass. And they were infact partially trained by the gmg.EDIT:Me Dios! I was too late on that post. I believe the gmg lost. They were forced to pay a reperation tax. Only the loosing side pays reperation!
2nd EDIT: What I mean by skill is more fighting style. Sum ppl might find titans and sabres harder to hit then the eagle.

unpro - Never thought of that before. Come to think of it, I've never picked a fight with the GMG before. So, what level shield and weapons are their Eagles?

level 10,12 shields I think...takes as much beating as titan and sabres, but much harder to hit. And in a group of eight, one of them will always keep hitting you.

Heh, one time I flew formation with a group of a dozen GMG Eagles in Omicron Beta as they attacked Ruiz Base. They didn't seem to realize the base couldn't be destroyed, and slowly got cut up by the base turrets... fools.

The GMG Eagles have an NPC class-9 graviton shield, ~7.4k capacity, with the following loadout:
2x c9 Skyblast B
1x c8 Skyblast A
2x c7 Sunblast B
1x c5 Catapult Missile
1x c9 Skyblast Turret B

I assume they use that mixture of gun classes to better manage weapon energy consumption.

Nice, I think I'll head by Sigma-13 and see for myself. Oh, and the GMG DID win the war.

I'm pretty sure you're only going to find the GMG using Hawks in Sigma-13.

Yeah I've never seen the GMG Eagles in Sigma 13 before...just the Hawks, but they're weak enough I can kill 2 or 3 during their head-on rush at me...not too tough...maybe I'll head to Omicron Beta and try my hand against the Eagles...

Hey! If your moching me, I was just prooving that the AI are extreamy poorly inevetably stupid. And if the GMG won and still had to pay a reperation tax then they are REALLY stupid. I doubt Rhinland poored all its resources into fighting withthe gmg. Wether or not they can fight off a couple rhinland fleets with the capasity to breed 3 worlds full of little GMG soldiers means nuthing. Prooves point again. The ai need 24 million ships just to take out 1 human player! I maintain they lost due to paying a reperation tax. If you have proof that they won show me. You have a screen shot of a rhinland military official saying that they lost!? Yadayadayada! PS: I dont like the GMG!

You must be playing without sound. If you play the sp campaign, there's a part of the mission where you will fly through sigma 13, and Juni will give a bit of history lesson about the Rheinland losing to GMG at this sector. It was the turning point of the war...

The GMG didn't win the war with their fighter jets though. Reading through all the in-game stuff on the GMG, it's pretty clear that they lured the Rheinland Navy into a gas pocket and blew it up.

They're not necessarily better pilots, but they're certainly craftier.
