If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Equiping Weapons and Shields to match enemy

Two Questions:

1) How can you tell what weapons and sheilds your enemy is using?
2) How usefull is it to match the right shield to protect from there weapons
and using the best weapons for there shields.

This is information I got from other posts

Shield Type Protects best against
----------- --------------
Graviton laser, photon, and pulse weapons.
Molecular plasma and particle weapons.
Positron tachyon and neutron weapons.

Faction Weapons used
-------------- ------------------
Blood Dragons: Laser
Corsairs Neutron: Pulse
Gaians: Photon
Golden Chrysanthemums: Photon
Lane Hackers: Tachyon
Liberty Rogues: Laser
Mollies: Neutron
Outcasts: Tachyon, Particle
Red Hessians: Plasma, Laser
Rheinland: Plasma, Tachyon
Unioners: Neutron
Xenos: Particle
Zoners: Photon

Well if you MUST know, I HAVE heard a rumor. Ok this is what I heard... Weapons do 20% more or less damage depending on shield base. A photon weapon might do 20% less damage on a gravitation based shield. I personally like lasers and photon. But on my maxxed out char I use nomads, photon and tychon. What ever I shoot at the shields still go down fast enough. But when I take fire from say nuetron when Im using a gravitation based shield I feel my shields dont absorb well and my shields drop pretty quickly. See ya around, FREElancer.

Oh, and concerning your 1st question wich I feel you pretty much answered yourself thats why it wasnt included in my last post.... You can scan your target and see cargo, equip, weapons, everything. I dont remember the default button but I use O for O damn you have big weapons.

Yeah, O is default for scanning. You can use that to see everything about your enemies' ships, just like your own inventory screen. You have to be within like 1800 m I think for it to work, though, and if you get too far away the screen disappears. Apparently your computer can't remember what they had once they've left scanner range.

Thanks for your input.
It's tough doing the scan and reading the info when in a heated battle.
