Mine Jump Gate?

Mine Jump Gate?

At about Sector G-5 and around there, there is a mine field.
In the middle of it is a jump gate and it is bothering me as to how to get to it.
Is there a way? or is this just something left empty by the makers of Freelancer.
I can't get close enough to identify where it goes too either !

Are you talking about the minefield in New York system? Also, are you in MP?

If so, then don't worry about it - it's only available in SP, and requires a higher-end ship (with decent armor) and good shields.

Actually, it doesn't really require any sort of higher ship, because the mines kill you instantly no matter your hull or shields. But there's a way through them. If you look at the jump gate, you can see the direction in which it opens. If you keep travelling around the mine field so that you're "right in front of" the jump gate, as in, directly in front of the part that opens, then there's a huge space in the mine field for you to go through. I think this opening is somewhere around the bottom left corner of the minefield. If you look on your map of Zone 21, at the bottom left, there is a small brown circle, and then below it, depicting the "corner" of the mine field, a small brown circle with part of it missing, the entrance is somewhere between those two. But Annylina is right. In MP, there's really no reason to go there. But it's a pretty creepy feeling while driving through the mine field, nonetheless.

Shelak, play the SP to the end and you WILL know exactly where it is.

STOP ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS !
