There is an error, when I launch the FL DataStorm v 1.70

is shows the dialog window with message:

"Run-time ERROR 429, ActiveX component cant create object "

I get the same error message. I have Win XP Pro.

Try downloading the vb runtime files and installing them again.

This is the single greatest data base ever made. The web site ones are ok, but this program tells you exactly where to go and it provides detailed information on bases.

I do have a suggestion though. Is there anyway you can make it so when you click on a jump hole it will automatically take you to where that jump hole leads? Its no big deal or anything, it would just be a nice little feature.

Interesting tools. But I have a problem with it: i cannot run it. I installed version 1.52, then copied over the 1.70 exe. As I started, it did some work on the dll's and ini's if I read it right, but then it gave me the following error message:

It gave me this error while parsing the shiparch.ini, the entry for the or_osiris to be exact.

This error repeats itself whenever I try to launch the app.
Any idea what could cause this?

I'm using WinXP Pro (US) btw.

* The runtimerror mean that u v a modified FL and somewhere is a too long nickname (I ll change text fields to var-lenght in one of next versions).

so basically any mod

for now i noticed Orion and helios and battleship mod crash datastorm

guess the best thing to do is unmod the game (FLMM rocks) run fl datastorm
let it build its database

remod your game

fun datastorm again (it will not crash this time)

Out of curiosity, has anyone else had trouble with RPC errors after installing this?

All I know, is that after I installed it, then uninstalled it through Add/Remove Programs, I've been getting errors saying "Incompatible version of the RPC stub." So far, I've only gotten the error when using Find in IE, and when trying to instal the Enclave demo. New windows in IE aren't loading, either. So...any ideas?
