planetary rings...without planets????

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

planetary rings...without planets????

I saw a couple of rings with no planets to orbit around.
Why is this???
Is it a bug in my game???
Because i've had no bugs in this game (sound or video) so far (knock on wood ) i was wondering if this is at all a case of a graphical bug???
anyone else see this???

I've just recently seen it at New Berlin system and i've seen it once in a Kusari system...not sure whcih one...with the Deshima station i think...

Ive seen a couple of those too... i though about flying through one... didnt feel like it though. Other than seeing them, i guess there just freakish space anomilies...

*If you have a cat and a dog in the same house, will that be a problem? Of course not, you might just have solved world hunger*

the rings are actually very badly done.
I was expecting them to be like dust and perhaps some larger rocks.
Remember the opening credits of ST Voyager? When the ship goes for sort of a "swim" through one ring of a planet and how all the dust and particles moved around...that is what it could have been....but of course they didn't think about the stellar detail as much as the damn weapon names....they ended up having 3 different names for a weapon that is graviton based, and has same refire rates, range and power (and that's just 1 example)

anyways, i enjoy at least looking at the rings from afar.

Yea, I know what you mean...

I remember seeing early screenshots of FL and the rings were actually dust and large particles and asteroids up close...

Guess it woulda been kinda hard to do that, though...

Also, I remember seeing blackholes in early screenshots... Not like jumpholes, but literal HUGE blackholes...

yeah there is something regarding that in another topic...someone mentioned it existed...the black holes i mean but the mathematical equation for it would be so huge and complicated for the programmers to fit in...besides why would they add that perfect detail when there were much more simpler things that were not detailed as they should have been...like the planetary rings.

Some of them are. There is a dust ring in Sigma 17 with no planet....the engine is obviously capable of it.

I dont get the complaints about the graphics. Yes, the engine is a little dated, but it doesnt suck. And it runs fast even on low end systems.
