But I've only seen them attack in waves of 8 twice and only needed to go back once more for a missing Cannon as I only got 3 Cannons after those 2 waves. Before I had to quit due to lack of shields/nano's

@ those that have gotten Nomad blasters/Cannon''s
If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Well the reason for my post was to ask if this was the norm or not. 1 thing to add is that I had finished single player the night before and seeing as single does affect the jump gate access online, I thought maybe the Nomads dropping as well.

Well I can confirm they come in bigger waves than 4 only, after I levelled up to lvl38 and had a helluva lot of enemie's (pirating and pissing people off that wanted my cargo) I was getting attacked in waves of 6 sometimes 4, no 8 though o0
And the drop rate was nice, I had 4 cannons and 5 blasters after 3 waves and made it out with 30nano and 11 shield batts to get me to docking.

is it me or are the nomads easier to fight in the unknown sys. with the planets than in the unknown without the planets? also, i think in the unknown sys. they are fighters and not interceptors, like in the empty unknown. and whats the diff. between an interceptor and a fighter?
gee, that guy's cool.

I believe the general consensus was that you have to be level 35 or better for Nomad weapons to drop. I never heard any true confirmation, though, only speculation based on people's experiences.
I'm convinced there /is/ a level requirement, though. I went Nomad hunting with a level 25 guy in my group and in the Unknown system with me - nothing dropped. After he left, things started dropping normally again

No, I've gotten several drops from the Omicron Gamma Nomads. I didn't get drops as often as at Omicron Alpha, but I did get my four NEB's eventually.

I've gotten all my NECs/NEBs from Omicron Gamma as I am still hostile with the Outcasts (which makes Omicron Alpha a no-no). Initially, I was also hostile with the Corsairs. When it was time to finally get some Nomad weaponry, I had to improve my standing with the Corsairs first, without, however, becoming hostile with any other factions, especially not with the Red Hessians as I still wanted to be able to do the diamond trade. Hence I started doing missions for the Hogosha (Kabukichu Depot in NEW TOKYO). With every completed mission my rep with the Corsairs became a little better (the tradeoff being Hessians and GMG reps taking a slight hit). I kept repeating this until they had become decently neutral, while the Red Hessians were also still neutral. Not only did I make it possible for me to go to Omicron Gamma, I also made a lot of quick money in the process. The target ships in the Hogosha missions (GC + Dragons) drop plenty of equipment and cargo that can be sold for quite some cash. Mission waypoints are always near the Hogosha base and usually you pass by the Kyushu jumphole, where usually there will be more juicy targets with precious cargo.

That's some good advice. Thanks Cham, I'll have to remember that next time I need to cozy up to some Corsairs That doesn't po the Kusari corporations or police or anything, huh?
