Was taking jobs from the Corsairs for ungodly amounts of cash, and each time I took a mission I'd hit the rumor mill to buy a location if one was offered.

After the second mission, Instead of the typical. You're new here aren't you. The dude actually said...

Nice to see you again Trent.

OMG!!! Is this based on some level of faction also? Everytime I see that dude in Tripoli Mining Station he tells me "Nice to see you again Trent."

I'm gonna go find a bounty hunter rep and see if they'll tell me to drop dead or something. Anyone else had this happen?

After you talk to someone, they recognize you if you talk to them again.
I once had a hostile guy tell me "I outta feed you your lungs!" so far, its my favorite npc comment.

Man, no matter how many times I talk to someone usually it's always, Hey, I don't know you, you're new here etc ad nauseum. I thought this was something unique. Bah. LOL ok nevermind.

Check the names of the people you "talk" to, if you talk to the same person later, they'll remember you. Each base has its own characters that hang out in the bar... granted there really isn't much variety outside of their uniform.

I know I shouldn't skip them, but I ignore most of the rumors.....I only go for jobs, info and bribes.

I was recognized in places I've never been before....unknown system....Don't want to go too far into that, since this isn't the spoiler section.

Oh...and Pook.....Why would anyone want to mess with Texas? Your average Texan's ego, is bigger then the state of Alaska.....No fun.

I also had a guy offer to "feed me my lungs". I was so mad I actually wanted him to start something. I went back to him several times but he never got up. I am now working on "kung-fu" mod ala "the Matrix" where Trent leaves him gasping for air on the bar room floor. Also, my game ended with Trent and Juni getting married :-)

Yeah, I've seen the occasional base where they're chummy with you, even if you haven't been there. The big example would be Kyoto base in the story.
