Nomad Troubles 0_o

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Nomad Troubles 0_o

Ok, so I've fought, turboed, and nano-ed all the way to the Nomad Homeworld mission...

Well, I start out OK, blasting a few of those pathetically killable Nomad fighters, cruising down to the surface of the Dyson sphere. Killed the 4 Gens with my precious torp launcher and some fine gun work, etc etc... Well, I had taken exactly 0 hull damage the entire time, not even using a single nanobot. My shields had just finished recharging. Feeling confident, I stepped on the gas and zipped through the door...

And got about a half second view of the scenery beneath before being blown to bits. No missile warning, no shield drop notification, no nothing. Just plain boom. I had no time to see exactly what killed me, or to see how much of it there was.

Here's my rig: an Anubis I had aquired a few missions before, complete with:
-Order HF shield
-Advanced Thruster
-Reaper II(x6)
-Reaper I Turret(x1)
-Starkiller Torp launcher
-Advanced countermeasure launcher
-Razor mines
-full nanobots and 11 batteries

Since people have obviously done this and lived before, it's obviously not one of those things that's impossible...So exactly WHAT is down there? And exactly HOW does it go through 3800+ shield points and 4200 armor points in one lousy strike? I didn't see any excess projectiles zipping through my remains, so it had to be a small number of whatever.

And, while I'm a t it, is there a specific way to get through that door WITHOUT getting nailed by whatever the heck that was? 0_o

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000

was the same for me when I entered first. I loaded the autosave and hit the afterburners immediately. that worked.

btw ... if you came so far without getting hit you I think I was doing something wrong. I had much more problems with the shield generators ... but finally did it

Yep, there are quite a few nomad ships on the other side of the entrance, use afterburners, then cruise to your objectives, this should give time for your friendly wingmen to engage them, give you a little breathing room.

Yep...I tried going through on cruise and that worked just fine. Good thing none of the nomads carry cruise disruptors...lol

-edit-
I noticed that fewer things shot at me once I got near the shield generators...any idea why they let up? Or are they just too busy with everyone else to notice the anubis trashing their base?

Hi,
u have to kill the 4 generators, np: if u fly real near u se a corner , shining blue, hide in ,speed 1-0, look for the generator and kill this thing, and so on its the best way, dont fight to ships, or any others, it cost u life, i hope sry for my bad english, c from germany, the corners are near to the generators u can hide inside and look for the generator,

@John Sinclair

What you are describing sounds like the mission where you have to acquire a power source for the alien device. That one's easy. Nukeit however meant the final mission of the storyline which has some similarities but is much harder.

I had the hardest time getting into the Dyson Sphere, being on the fringe of destruction more than once. When i was finally in it was a piece of cake. I kept moving, used the generators as cover and blew 'em up with multiple torpedoes.

4 hits from a nomad turret takes out your anubis sheilds and armor.
Besides , they jump you the moment you come in..

But I think the entire mission is easy...
