It is odd that the Anubis was availbe earlier. I too thought this was a little weird. Still, the price is astoundingly good value, give-away cheap really - but it's most annoying that when i cam to trade it in on New Berlin for a HumpBack (thought i'd make some cash now I was free from having to save humanity) and all I got was the purchase price!!! Now, forgive me for thinking this stupid, but it seemed like the Ship Dealer on New BErlin KNEW that i have got the Anubis for peanuts, and so he wasn't going to pay me a bean more than was 'fair'. Not very likely, I think. Especially since the Anubis was one of the finest heavy fighters, and also a rare Order ship - worth a hell of a lot more than $1,100 on the open market, I would have thought!!!!
By the way, is that it? Am I done? Will I never see Juni and King etc. again? They left it kinda open. I kept wondering what I had to do to get myself back on track. I took a Job (for $2000 - hahaha, when I had over a million in the bank!) because that was what I was told to do at the 'end' of the single player, but having done that, nothing has happened. I assume that all there is left to do is tool around the universe looking for more money to spend on weapons I don't need and ships that can't carry any more stuff than I already have?
Did anyone else feel slightly cheated by the fact that the single player storyline is basically mandatory - because you cant' level-up without completeing the missions, and without levelling up, you can't get any good ships. In fact, you can't even find any of the other systems without the single player missions. It isn;t really that 'free' at all. The jobs at sations are all very similar after a while, and once you have more than $75k in the bank, there is much more money to be made from trading. I mean, what are you going to do? Fly 20 waypoints with a shipment of diamonds for a cool $25,000 profit, or risk your neck shooting at a fully-armed corsair hideout for a measly $5000? I wonder...
As a trader, I was also a bit upset to learn that I can never buy one of those huge Freighters that cruise around inviting you to shoot at them by saying "I hope my shipment of Gold gets a good price". I really wanted to be able to haul 100,000 units of cargo, rather than the pathetic loadings of the tiny freighters available to us. I have enough money to fill about ten humpbacks with diamond, but I can only invest a tiny proportion of my wealth because of the crappy cargo space. Oh well.
