Mission Attacking Tekagi''s Fortress

i have a barracuda w/ 2adv. skyrails, 2 lavablade mkIII, and 2 wakizashi
26 shield bats and 26 nanobots
but for some reason i cant seem to beat this mission without dying
the closest i got was after destroying the 4 shield generators i was in the docking cinimatic and blew up
any why u can help would be much appericated

Took me a while to get past that mission. Try not to use your nanos to repair your shields or hull until when you are ready to dock.

After finished destroying those four generators, go straight down into the tunnel below and wait until your shields and hull is repaired (f and g) before docking with the arch. Go cruise and fly straight towards the arch until you are right outside the entrance and than press dock.

Keep an eye out on your shields and hull.

I can't do this mission, the battleship keeps kicking my butt, and I run out of shields and nanos in the dogfight.

How I beat this mission, I listened to the planning session. I flew from underneath the arch. The asteroid is hollow, so you can fly right through it. I had to do it in cruise, and I didn't help with the dogfight at all. I just ran for the bottom of the asteroid, and let the fighters fight each other. Also, I found out that juking like a madman, was the only way I was able to do it without useing all my nanos. I had like 2 left I think. Try to use a heavy fighter in this one. The ammount of firepower seems to be the most important thing. (I ran around for a while, and got the money for that funky looking heavy with the big bulbous face.) The more firepower you can put on the shields, the better. It means that you take less time under the battleships "guns".

torpedoes are they key here

load up and fire away, and use the blue shimmering shield as a shield against fire from the battle ship

I did this mission in a Kusari Dragon outfitted with 3 steathblades and 2 adv stunpulses, 1 catapult missile launcher maxed out, and a torpdeo launcher maxed out. I think I had lvl 5 graviton shields.

Took me two tries. First time, I finally died from the battleship after destroying the shield generators and not figuring out what I was supposed to do after that and therefore just looping around mindlessly looking for the dock port which was right in front of me but I was too dumb to check, but I got it figured out on the second try after reading some stuff in the forums here. Only mission I had to do twice aside from mission 8, and mission 8 was at least hard sort of. :-)

Had most of my nanos, and about 17 batteries by the time I docked in the first half of the mission. Used up all my countermeasures though on the final blast out.

Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a larger target selection.

In a Dromedary....

Torpedoes are for wusses

The class 5 missile launcer ($375 a missile) usefull for the fighters at the start of the mission, 2 advanced tarantuala (I think, about 180 damamge, 4.00 repeat) one level 6 turret up top, (170 damage, 4.00 repeat) and the rest of the turrets mounting class 5 Sunfury 2's I think, (50 damage, 8.33 repeat) Advanced Thruster, Class 6 3600 shield, 81 recharge. 23 bots and batteries.

I used the missiles to kill the initial ship wave quickly, the number of batteries you are able to preseve here, will control the fight ahead at the base.

I tried to kill the cap ship, didn't work, so I just went straight for the generators, full afterburner, using missiles and guns. Do not engage the fighters, stay out of thier way, save your shield batteries for the damage you'll take from the occasional "stray" shot from the fighters and the cap ship, it took me down in no time if I tried to sit and shoot.

I complete the mission with 2 battereies left and a full shield, I was the mission that gave me the most trouble throughout the entire SP game.

Hawk w/ 2 Skyrail and 2 other guns(can't remember which, but one of them was that double-barreled Outcast gun), CD, Adv thruster, Adv. Countermeasures, Razor mines. I used 2 Nanobots and 10 shield batts during the mission.

Reaper: $200,000,000.
Rockets: $100,000

Had already completed the mission previously, went back through sp again trying some different tactics, this worked well for me against fortress. After engagement, afterburned/cruised as could to bottom of fortress. Up through rad area underneath ship, afterburned right underneath the cruiser/battleship parked outside, dumped every torpedo/missile/mine/shot at pb into cap. ship untill it died. Just watch for your mine/torpedo blast range. After the cap. ship went down, then took out a couple top guns from the arch, then went after the generators. Although bit of money spent on torpedo/missiles, no nano/battery usage at all. and cap. ship is still dead after undocking. Use cap ship as screen to incomming fire from turrets.

I can't beat this. I lose some shields and nanos in the first dog fight, and the battleship launches so many missles that I run out of countermeasures, and then it kills me. I tried stocking up on torpedoes and missles but I can't kill it before i kills me either. I give up on this mission. I can't take missions to increase my equipment because I accepted this one. This game is poorly made, it keeps trapping you and making it impossible to proceed cause you don't have good enough equipment. It shouldn't be possible to get in a trap like that, like Morrowind. This game could take a lot of pointer from Morrowind...sigh....I am so aggravated.

If you don't have an advanced thruster, I would recommend it highly...it's 6000 credits, but well worth it. Thruster use is one of the best ways I can think of to reliably evade the majority of enemy fire. Also, Put the best shield generator you can on your ship. If you need to, do a few extra jobs before acceting the mission so your equipment isn't lacking in any way.

I can't. I reload my old game but its already after I accepted a mission. Is there any way to abort the mission?

I'm using a heavy thruster, which isn't as good as advanced but is still very good, and a Class 5 shield(Not class 6, but not too bad). My problem is with the shield generators, you can't dodge, because you can only go backwards very slowly, so I fly up to them and then just strafe slowly and shoot them and get blown up.

I've tried this mission like 7-8 times and failed, I'm not bothering to try again unless I get some foolproof strategy. This is poor design. A developer should do one of two things to make a game better: Let people save anywhere they want, or give them an easy difficulty setting option. Otherwise, you can get stuck. I play games to have fun. Replaying a mission 8 times is not fun. It kinda defeats the purpose. Sorry, I'm just grumpy because now I have no games to play.

Actually, I found an older save game, so I'm doing more random missons to upgrade my shields and guns. Yay.

I'm currently using a Dragon- just to make sure, thats better then the Hawk the Blood Dragon base has, right? The stats seem very similar, with the Hawk have slightly weaker armor, but more carrying capicity and (I assume) maneveuarbility(Wish I could spell that correctly).
