I bought the Barracuda and was very pleased with it, however, I haven't tried any of the others, so I can't really comment on which one is the best.

Get the hawk, because it looks nice and it's well-armed. Also if you pick up any lvl 10 stuff, you can cram it in there.

On a side note, I think hawk is only available to those of level 28 and above... In which case, I recommand the barracuda

Kusari Heavy is pretty good i had it for a long time...
they look pretty good too....

I went for the Dragon, you've got 6 attachment points for weapons where the rest only have 4.

I love the Dragon.

Small profile so its hard to hit.
6 weapon hardpoints.
cool looking style...

My favorite loadout is to find 4 high energy use guns with 700/ speed and 2 different missles. When you can handle yourself easily, save the missles. When things are tougher, use the missles to even the odds...

Actually, that's the Falcon you're thinking of. And by the way, it can't handle lvl 10 guns either, that would be the Eagle.
The Hawk is the third Civilian fighter. It's a light fighter, so it has only 4 guns, making it inferior to the Dragon and Barracuda in terms of maneuverability.

Personally, I chose the Barracuda. It is virtually identical to the Dragon in terms of armor, firepower and price , but offers a slightly larger cargo hold. And maybe it's just me, but Kusari fighters seem to lose their wings pretty quickly.

do the wings hold guns though??? if they dont it is just a matter of repairing them once u get into dock... if u lose a gun u had to fight for and search for, then try to avoid those ships where your arsnel is quickly removed into space...

also is it possible if it is shot off for u to pick up the gun if it survives?

if you are still playing the single player, go for the dragon, its the hardest hitting one of them there and you will need all the firepower you can get.

All depends on what you like. I went with the hawk and completed the SP campaign with it. I did change to the anubis the first time through but my second go I stuck with the hawk to endgame. It seems to me that the bad guys seem to target the largest class of ship first. It may be the second time around I was just better. Also the hawk is more manuvarable than the HFs. The big advantage with the HFs is that it can handle a torp launcher. The Dragon, Barracuda and the hawk require level 13+ to purchase. So all are about the same. As the hawk is an LF it should be a bit better on a pound for pound basis as the lvl restrictions are the same for all 3. As far as money. You can make buckets of it trading. There is no requirement that you run off to Juni the second she calls.

The Barracuda roqs mah nuts! To bad the designers didn't go ahead and make the Hammerhead C10. That my friends would eb uber from every angle! Hoik!

The Baracuda was my ship of choice since it had the slightly larger cargo hold. Equip it with the right weapons array, fly well, and you should have no problems!
