And about the Earth?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

The nomads can build dyson spheres

That makes them more than powerful enough to destroy planets, suns, entire solar systems...

"The nomads can build dyson spheres

I really wonder if that wasn't done by the Dom Kvash... Since a race able to do such things by itself wouldn't need to rely on infiltration and diversionary tactics...

Yes, but since the original intro was changed, wouldn't that make the "blowing up the Earth" bit irrelevent and therefore, the Earth is still out there?

That's my feeling as well...

The original intro also involved the sole surviving admiral (or so) rushing to the Sirius system to warn humanity. Also didn't make it into the final game... I think they decided to shift from a technologically much more powerful foe to an infltrating foe somewhere during the design process...

hm... where did u get that from? nomads blew up the sun ? well, the dum kvash might have been like dinos, that disappeared without a trace, well, dinos had traces... but i think it wasn't an asteroid that hit their planet to kill them.. well, anyway, i'm assuming earth and the entire system will still be there, under the suffering control of the coalition, well, by freelancer time, mb they might have dominated milky way or sth...

presently, my world is upside down, so if u do not mind, u'll have to tok to my a$$

Perhaps (only speculation here) the hypergates being brought online gave access to the Sol system... that'd be an interesting turn of events, old rivals and new battles...

The return of a New Western Alliance from Sirius would sure be neat to see if MS/DA ever decides to do a third 'Lancer game. It would bring the plot full circle and give closure to the entire trilogy.

Theoretically you only have to hit a sun with....

5,000,000,000,000 tons of Nuclear Explosive's to destroy it, depending on its mass... (thats... with our current technology BTW, in Freelancer Universe, I havnt the slightest Idea how advanced the nuclear weapons may be, or if they even use them anymore)

Thats from the outside.

If it were possible to get something into the center of the sun, 5,000,000 would only be required to completely Super Nova the sun.

I think a race that can completely trap a sun within a sphere, could PROBUBLY destroy it too.

StarLancer was awesome, but I really wish that you could have been able to find some kind *if any* of artifact from StarLancer. I know you can find the Sleeper Ship *the fifth one* but sleepers werent even in StarLancer (You dont see them, Not ingame atleast from what I remember)

They did destroy the sun. Atleast it would only make sense. You would thing the Coalition would have tracked down the Sleeper Ships some how... I mean it only seems logical (as spock would say.)

Well.. until we find out anythig else, im going to wonder around the game files and see if I can mod this game so that I can make a blackhole with mathimatical equations so that it works like a real one would.

Anyone here know Advanced Calculace and Physics? Hehe.

Yes, but the nomads might not have built that sphere even though the game said it was their home world. If the artifacts predate the nomads then there is a chance that they destroyed the ancient race. There by taking over that sphere, which could have been built by the said ancient race that made the artifacts.

Well... the fact is they did blow up sol.

The only planet that survived was Pluto.

It would have been awesome if you could have used the alien warpgate and gotten to pluto.

The Nomads built a giant Dyson Sphere toilet and used Earth as a chlorine puck.

Maybe....

I guess?

The Dome Kavash reminds me of the Xel'Naga in StarCraft...

If you had listened to the SP dialogue, at some point it mentions that the "Nomads" were created by the Dom K'vash to watch over things while they were gone. Where they went and why is unknown, but according to the SP some group of scientists were poking around in an uncharted system... as usual sticking their noses where they didn't belong. The Nomads perceived humans as a threat, and in compliance with their last known orders from their masters, set about to neutralize us.
The Dyson Sphere -- as well as all other artifacts -- were created by the Dom K'vash... not the Nomads. The Nomads are nothing more than a race of super watchdogs bred for that purpose... they wouldn't have the full knowledge of their masters, much less the ability to detonate a star. As one previous poster pointed out, if they had, we wouldn't have stood a snowball's chance in Hell against them.
Those that obviously *do* have that technology and knowledge -- the Dom K'vash -- have vanished, leaving only the Hyper-Gate system and countless artifacts behind to give proof of their existence.

I was inclined to believe the Earth really was destroyed. The only reason they took that portion out of the intro was that the developers wanted to introduce the Nomads later in the plotline rather than make them the bad guys from the outset.
