And about the Earth?

If you are stuck in a mission and do not know how to continue, this is the place to ask for help. Missing that elusive Level 10 Shield? Don''t know where to find the lost Ohtori ship? This is the only place where spoilers are allowed!

Just that they had to leave the solar system....so kinda indirectly...since earth is in it!

* I assumed that opening (colony ships leaving solar system) would have some meaning important in the main plot of the game.

What it happened with the civilization that remained in the Earth?

Earth got screwed when the Nomads blew up the Sun.
(StarLancer)

awww...thats so sad... maybe we might get to visit earth when they let us use the hyper gates

Post Fri Mar 21, 2003 4:10 am

Well... There isn't much left to visit once one's sun explodes.

When the sun sets, short people make tall shadows.

Odd...I don't remember the sun being destroyed in StarLancer...where'd that happen?

The civilization that remained, well...who knows except for DA and MS...could be part of a new game...time will tell I guess...

I can make a guess as to what happened though...they settled down and then the individual countries broke up into smaller factions and eventually had another large scale war and killed each other.

THE END

Whoah, the nomads were in starlancer?

you just ruined it for me

Er

Post Fri Mar 21, 2003 7:08 pm

No the nomads were not in Starlancer. What people are referring to about Sol being destroyed is the original intro to Freelancer, in it the Nomads nova the sun and Sol is destroyed, but since that was not seen in the intro inb the actual game it leads people to believe that maybe in an expansion or new game the Coalition may be heard from. In fact Starlancer takes place at the beginning of the war while the colonists exit is basically the end around 90 yrs or so later. If you want to see the original intro its in the download section as "Freelancer Intro" its date is something 2000.

* I don't knew that original intro.

The nomads had dominated the coalition?

This is the link for intro:

To my knowledge, the Nomads have NOTHING to do with the fate of Earth. (They did in the original FL intro, but not anymore.) The sleeper ships left the system...that's it! So we can only assume Earth is still there.

as well as the Coalition

I feel the Nomads blowing up the Earth was only part of Freelancer in the earlier stages of development. Even though all their ships are Alien technology and look very advanced (and their weapons do hit rather hard), they are nto exactly very dominating and imposing... Nomad interceptors are weak, and only effective in large numbers. They don't even have energy shields. Nomads rely on their pretty large numbers after their infection of the colonies, but their primary asset is their ability to take over humans, and not the strength of their weapons. This is what Lord Hakkera also tells: that the Nomads need to softer up the colonies before being able to attack them. All these things do not really suggest an extremely advanced species with the ability to blow up stars at will... If they had weapons like these the Nomads wouldn't have bothered infiltrating, since blowing up fleets is a piece of cake compared to blowing up suns. IF they could blow up stars, they would also have Shipkiller (like in Prophecy) type Cap Ships which could destroy battlefleets with a single shot...
