Haven't beaten it yet....








Can't beat this thing. I'm flying a Bretonia Crusader w/as much firepower as I can afford. The Crusader is not a great choice for this kind of fight since it takes a football field to make a turn.
When I come to the first patrol, they naturally all come after me and ignore the other Dragons ships in the formation.12 ships all shooting at you at once will pretty much wipe out your repair and shield reserves very fast. *If* I can get past the patrols, I'm usually so beat up that by the time I get to the arch, I have nothing left to fight with and get killed immediately since, once again all the ships come after me. i tried this with a Hawk fighter, as well, but with no missiles, and fewer guns, even the better handling of the ship isn't enough for this fight. Any ideas or better tactics? I understand that I need to get to the core of the Arch but haven't gotten close enough to try.

Ignore the fighters, and cruise/engine kill your way to the bottom of the asteroid... you can slip in from beneath and pick off the shield generators from there... that way you only have a couple turrets on the arch to worry about for 3 of the generators, if not all 4... worst case scenario you're patching your shields while the battleship is pounding you... the first batch of fighters I usually do ok with, then I ignore the second flight and try to get into the arch asap.

For the first patrol just use afterburner and hard turns. Make a few attack runs on your current target but remember those other ships are helping you shot down those other fighters. Have to break your wing commander habit your wingman can’t make a kill

At the arch cruise directly to the arch. Target a shield generator and fly right up to it. The arch's shield should protect you from most of the weapons fire. If not afterburner out and make a few fly by's. Remember to keep maneuvering like crazy.

Once the four generators are taken out fly really close to the arch and use the F3 key.

i'd just cruise then engine kill my way there, so u can juss turn around and shoot the hell out of anyone following u...then just go for the generators...make sure to turn bak around once and awhile..cuz u may e gettin away from the fighters but straight into those turrents
