Can''t Jump to Hudson - Denied - Why?

I got to the jump gate to Hudson system from the Texas area (I think) and it simply won't take me. There where no others on the way in so no que, just kept saying access denied.

Any thoughts?

At the beginning of the SP game you can't use non-liberty jumpgates

Some jumpgates and holes will only be available when you complete a mission in the storyline in SP. After you complete the storyline all of the system will be accessible for you. Except I have found one system that would not let me go to. It also said "access denied ".

So how are people getting to outside of liberty in SP games in the beginning? I am hearing peeps touting 100K-1MM credit hauls in the first 20 min of the game cause they started over and know where to go to discover paths.

Any help?

That doesn't answer the question. How are people bypassing this fact so early in the game. I UNDERSTAND I need to keep on with the SP, but isn't this supposed to also be an open ended game where you don't HAVE to play the quests, or at least can do what you want and come back to the sp main plot anytime you like???

So then how bout some details please?

*** minor spoilers in here ***

The fact that the universe is "locked" until you have completed certain missions have been criticized a bit. Also, as certain areas are opened up with the story line, certain other areas become sort of unavailable (hostile), but this is fixed when you complete them all. Don't spend time adjusting your factions before you have completed the story line missions as they will change quite a bit during those missions.

If you want "full" freedom from level 1, your only option is to start a server and play multiplayer by yourself.

This "Lack of Freedom" early in the game is one of the things that I'm very critical of also. I can understand that they want to keep players in the somewhat safer Liberty space, but they should have made some exceptions.

I mean, even the "Jumpholes" are "Locked"! Now whoever heard of a Jumphole being locked!? Or "Lockable"? I feel that, at the least, you should be able to use the Jumpholes at any time in the game.

But, all that aside, there are some good cargo runs you can do just within the Liberty system. Check the posts under "Best Short Trade Runs" and others like it. You should find several listed.

In the beginning sp game you only have access to 4 systems, this expands a bit as the game goes along, they impose a lvl/system cap on you. On this I kinda ride the border of agreement and disagreement with the sp line. There should be freedome to move around, but also, even with lvl cap on certain items, the sp game can quickly become unbalanced.

Personally I would like a sp flag selectible at start to follow story line or the unfettered mp-type environment.

jumpholes can be out of alignment(mentioned quite a few times in sp)
thus making them inaccesible/locked
