The IRC Channel

now i don't know if anyone goes there, but I can't seem to connect to it. It disconnects while finding my hostname. Any ideas?

Just a thought but...
Are you using your own computer?
Some Schools, Library's etc do not allow connections to IRC.

its a well known issue with a lot of irc servers, if you move or copy mirc etc from one pc to another then mirc stores the PC name and local IP in its settings, so you have to remove them and let it refind them or manually edit them.

mirc: options:connect:local info

Also make sure that the next option is also set: options:connect:ident

You can set it to only send the ident on connecting so the port{113 by default} that it uses is blocked otherwise

When you go to the chat page click on start IRC using my own program and it is configured to start your IRC software in your case Mirc will start up and it will ask you if you want to change servers and join the irc channel...click ok and you be in the Freelancer irc channel shortly.
