will it interfere with his duties as King of the Vulture Men?

Only if he can't type while yelling "GORDON'S ALIVE!"

Post Tue Sep 21, 2004 2:28 am

Someone REALLY must explain the significance of the "Gordon's Alive!" joke to me. I must have missed it.

*sigh* you just never "get it" do you Esq?

FD looks a lot like British actor Brian Blessed who played Vultan, King of the Birdmen in the Dino deLaurentiis version of Flash Gordon (the one with the soundtrack by Queen) and Vultan quite famously shouts "Gordon's Alive!" when he finds out Flash is erm well still alive. Obviously you haven't seen it (how can anyone never have seen Flash Gordon?)

are you with us now?

Calm down people! It doesn't work that way here!
Back on-topic please!

ok, back on-topic; are these dam' forums going to get sorted out or what? even the front page takes yonks to load sometimes.

Post Wed Sep 22, 2004 12:10 pm

or not at all i just got a 504 error saying that my browser could not open the page

Post Wed Sep 22, 2004 8:13 pm

And what would you like to see sorted out...am I suppose to read your mind...although we both probably wouldn't want that...I have enough problems of my own.

I really don't have any plans for changing any of the forums unless you have a suggestion that would make everyone happy.

You got the error because their was a ton of people on the site and the server can handle only so many requests at the same time...I see you did eventually get on..

pretty much what i already said, bp.

too much on the front page, especially re: mods. i thought this would be maybe a header image and at most a couple of paragraphs of text, but some of these are huge, and there's too much info to go through. looks messy and slows browsing way down.

too many forums like Stinger said. shoorly a lot of modding forums can be made stickies with other forums, so that they in effect become sub-forums?

Active topics - does anyone use this feature? i don't. used it once and thought "not much point to that"

that's it

yeah lol but it is annoying when it happens though

Let each Mod have its own thread. Each release becomes its own thread. Require the modding "studios" to name the thread the same as the name of the Mod instead of the name of the Studio.

The only Mods with their own forums should be the ones from the big boys like Michael Dan and Starfyre. You could qualify big boy status by number of downloads or something. The correlation being ... the more downloaded a mod, the more likely that posting traffic will necessitate a forum instead of just a thread.

There's a new poll on the front page which asks whether or not TLR has too many forums. Only 210 people have voted though, so vote now concerned posters!
