I am pretty Pissed. I just JOINED today, read the sticky regarding newbies and posts BEFORE I posted. I posted two previous questions in appropriate locations (one in multiplayer and one in general) and they are both already GONE!!

While I did get satisfactory answers to my general question, I came back just now to find out if anyone had any answers to my second posting (multiplayer info) and see it is either moved or deleted. I have no idea how to find it if it is even still on or not.

I don't know what the idea behind this forum is, but I thought one purpose was to help inform players about Freelancer. So whats the story???

Baron, I answered your other question you posted. But, sometimes you have to change the "View xx days" setting in the forum you want to see more. It sometimes bumps them out of site, but they are still there.

Baron - they are both very visible - and I have 10 days in 'view threads' age. If i can see them both within seconds of going to a forum - then I would advise your mini rant is completely inappropriate!

Try looking next time - by this I mean look down the forum - as threads that are 'replied' in will be higher up the list. Search not by thread name, but by creator instead. So look down the list of creators - which was how I found both of your threads in under 20 seconds (that included swapping forums) without actually knowing when you posted them, or what the name of the thread actually was.

A little feed back from just me. I came to this site the first time, looking for freelancer game ideas, an little after that, mods. Then I joined and asked a question in discussion. I asked if anyone had built an Enterprise D ship for the game. I had played the enterprise show shop and liked it. I was told first, wrong forum. Second I was defended by another as not knowing, I was new. At first, I thought it was a US site, all Americans on the site.

I hung around for awhile, and noticed different type names and began checking profiles and discovered people from different countries posting here. That made my day. I had a way to meet people from different countries with out having to travel there. Thus began the silly sometimes questions, what do you like, or where are you from, ect type questions. I asked them, not to start a thread, but I wanted to know more about the people posting here. I had an image of people in my mind. Now, I needed to add to it.

Threads have filled in a lot. We have threads of real names, faces, food we like, cars we like, etc. Th picture is more complete. What can not be put in, always, is the feeling of the person, the personality. It was posted in another thread, that some who post here, are totally different than the on-line personality. I liked to dig a little deeper to learn more. And guess what, I met people I liked, though, culturally different, likes different, personality, different. Some who liked my stories, some who don’t, some who rarely post in my threads. Some, due to restrictions here, have had e-mail talks about subjects. Some were agreeable, some it came to a “agree to disagree” situation and move one to other topics.

I have had conversations in threads with some , at the time, did not know were only 10, 11, or 14 years old, others that were closer or older than myself. Wisdom comes with time and is not in a set age group. I have spoke with an 18 year old that seems to have more wisdom than I could hope to have. Not everyone is on the same page of ideas in life. But, That does not stop me from wanting to here them out. There are areas in life that I am completely inflexible in my opinion, but that has not stopped me from hearing an opposing pint of view, or wanting to understand why someone has that point of view.

Al this said, the forums, are an area that can take you to distant places and people, different than yourselves, or very much alike. Take advantage of that. Explore, learn things and hold the things you like, and leave those you disagree with. Take advantage of the opportunity, you may not get latter in life. Maybe, you will make a life log friend in the process.

i think i can safely say that your speech was the biggest load of sense i've heard anyone say

Finalday were you directing that at anyone in particular or was it really just for general consumption or was it both?

Post Sat Nov 06, 2004 6:23 am

Bandersnatch, it was to all who read, are the ones I aimed it. There is a lot on the forum to experiance, not just Freelancer, or the mods for the game. Make use of the oportunities here.

And, Welcome to TLR

it seemed to me that it was directed at someone, I don't know who, but it seemed quite personal, that's just the way it seemed to me.

Since this is a "feedack" thread, I just wanted to mention something that has been irritating me for a long time; the Italics tags. Now perhaps it is just my browser (it happened in IE as well though), however the and tags do not appear to work properly. When they are used in the composition of a message they work perfectly, however when a message is edited, the first italics tag changes from to . This means of course, that you have to go back to every instance of the tag and change the tag back to in order to keep italics in the message. I am not sure whether or not this is a bug or was done by design in order to make people think twice before using lots of italics, however the same problem does not evidence itself when using the bold tags. Just thought I'd mention it .
