I HATE avatars. It may give people more freedom of representation of themselves, but they are both are unnessasary and look messy on a page. What do you do on a forum ? Read other people's posts. You don't look at other people's avatars all day long. Next thing you know attachments will be allowed, and then we'll get TLR known as a "Porn-Atachment Site", where Mustang and the other mods won't be able to stop the influx of n00bs posting attachments, and then, well, look at my quote above .....
My annoyance is based on over-crowdedness. I mean, do we need to know how many people viewed the thread ? No. Do we need to know when someone last posted in the thread ? No. To me, these changes are purely cosmetic, and the forum doesn't require them. I admit, I like the new "Select Forum" menu, but I hate the topic/thread menu, and pretty much the rest of it.
As Bargib said, it's the community that matters, not the forum look, but that's the only reason I'm coming back when the new forums appear, not because of their new sickly "pretty look" ..........
