if im too lazy to uncheck my signature, then you're too lazy to read over it. to me it seems that you are the only person that cares about that. the only thing i get mad at is if i see a really long signature in every psot one sombodys. just lighten up

Um, I hate to break this to you Wolfy, but I'm not the only person who finds repetative signatures irritating and just messy...I've just assumed the role of watching over these forums and calling people on it. Actually it appears to be only you that doesn't see the benefit of keeping a clean house. You're tracking mud all over the place with the duplicate signatures signatures signatures signatures signatures after every post.

EDIT: Toned down the response.

well i havent even posted much lately! i don't see why everything is targeted at me, ive seen my fare share of every post from one person having a signature. i still fail to see the big deal

He's right, Wolfy. Your signature is messy and, to be blunt, it awful and makes no bloody sense! Just take the sig. off; make Stinger happy! He's right though, a number of other people have expressed their dislike of your signature. Why are you being singled out? It happens to us all, I wouldn't worry about it.

No offence .

any chance for an estimate for when the new forums will be up and running? also, how will the rank system be set up?

Post Sat Apr 17, 2004 9:36 pm

Server move took a LOT LONGER that I had imagined. I spent 4 hours cleaning up the new smilies to work with the darker background friday, and now I'm going to have to wait a few days to hit the few missing bumps:

a.) Formating of old content posts (HTML vs. plain text postings)
b.) Moderation adjustmentions, so we can moderate from day one
c.) Ranking adjustments
d.) Archived posts back into system
e.) Testing, testing, testing...

Estimates is that is launched when it is done... But I expect it to be within fairly short time - meaning a few weeks. Pr. week I can spend like 8-10 hours on coding/testing, and I expect there to be around 30 hours left.

Thanks for the update Bargib, we appreciate it.

Ranking adjustments? Yikes! Does thet mean we'll all be busted down a peg or two?

Post Mon Apr 19, 2004 2:29 pm

on some forums you can edit your rank urself. (it helps get rid of posts about raiseing rank but brings in more posts about how to change it)

This forum is unique. We like it that way.

Although some good ideas have been implemented over the years..no doubt.

wow, looks like every other forum on the web.

Post Sat May 01, 2004 5:04 pm

yeah it does when you think about it.....

Forums look similar because they are setup to adhere to a standard look and "feel". If BG were to introduce an entirely new type of forum, it might confuse people and/or make people leery of joining. People have to comfortable on forums you know.

He's also not doing ALL the code himself. He is building off a preexisting platform. Unlike the other forums however, Bargib's will always be more unique because he adds code and options that the others don't have. Plus it personalizes it.

i will still miss the color scheme i especially like how the main topic is a different color from the rest and the posts alternate color (or shades whatever u prefer) after each post
