... but since it's a form of feedback anyway, I'll dump this on your lawn. To get straight to the point: I'd like the Battleship-Encounter-Mod news to be taken off Lancers Reactor IMMEDIATELY. Why? Because the author of that mod, a certain "Vindicator", has copy-pasted MY work word for word (the prick didn't even bother to change filenames) without so much as contacting me for approval. He furthermore has NOT given me ANY credit WHATSOEVER; neither in the readme file of "his" mod nor in his posts on Station Network.

I've tried taking this up with Vinnie, but he has yet to respond to the emails I've sent him (big surprise). Needless to say, this pisses me off.

Ok, this will be taken off immediately. We're sorry about this and you can be sure that Vindicator is now on our watch list.

Erm...seems like we're having a problem with the site so I cant take it off quite yet.

Incidentally, it appears they (the good folks at SN.de) are in the business of translating tutorials & how-to's posted here at LR to german, then claiming them as their own. You may want to put out a general warning for these guys.

OK, I realise this might seem overly pedantic, but I've got a similar request concering LeOn's mod. Essentially the same story: no credit was given. You'd think some common courtesy wouldn't be too much to ask for...

I'm really sorry for that Nephilim - it is true I used Your tutorial to create the battleship encounters in my mod and I modyfied in only a bit. I'm just uploading a version of the mod with a readme and credits inside right now. I'm really sorry if I offended anyone - just didn't think about it

Nephilim - I do know they are translating stuff, and that is OK as long as they credit the source, eg. link back and prefferably also listing the original author. As far as I can see SN is doing that for the most part?

LeOn: no harm done, I jumped the gun somewhat, but I hope you can understand my position

Bargib: well, Vindicator neither linked back to my thread nor listed me as the original author in his translation (he edited his posts to include credits only AFTER I made a fuzz about it). Most other tutorials that were lifted from LR were translated by him, and those likewise didn't have a source listed. Not the ones I inspected, anyway.
