SeaQuest DSV

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

SeaQuest DSV

Did anyone remember this series? I liked its early seasons (it beat Star Trek TNG and DS9 as my no.1 sci-fi for a brief moment ), but the show later degraded horribly in the 2nd season, and even further in the SeaQuest 2032. Pity.

The show's 1st season had some SERIOUS potential. Its tech aspects were much more plausible than Star Trek, not to mention the Douglas Adams' dolphin-intelligence homage, though I didn't get it when I was still in junior-senior hign years.

Lol. For some reason this show seems to tie in with some earlier space sim memories...did this air when Wing Commanders 3 or 4 came out?

Anyway, I thought the show in its first season was decent, although that one geek kid who was pals with the dolphin was annoying. Worse than Wesley Crusher, in my opinion. (Actually, watching reruns I think he's not all that bad.)

Too bad Star Trek can't reach its former Next Generation heights again....

SeaQuest DSV started in 1993, Wing Commander III came out a year after in 1994.

I too enjoyed the show, but it did go downhill alot in SeaQuest 2032

I always watched it when it was on tv here, really liked it.

it went tits up ever since the ship got abducted by aliens and the sherrif from jaws was no longer the captain.
darwin pissed me off a treat though.

other than that, it was good to see some verne-esque science fiction and its a shame submarines and the undersea havent been covered more in science fiction.

I thought the show had promise until I learned that the dolphin was one of the crew, and he even outranked people. Can you imagine having to take orders from a fish? (I know dolphins aren't fish but saying, 'orders from a seagoing mammal' doesn't sound as good)

Darwin: Are you ignoring my orders?
Me: Yeah, Flipper. What are you going to do about it?
Darwin: I'm putting you on report!
Me: How are you going to do that after I make you into a tuna casserole?
Darwin: That's it! You're going to the brig, Mister!
Me: I'll show you! I'm pulling the cork on your tank!

It's not that I hate dolphins. I just think it's funny how these people hear the dolphin make a chirping noise and say. Those dolphins are trying to talk to us and if we were just a little smarter we could understand them. If they're so darn smart why do they get stuck in those nets all the time?

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!
