Arrgghhh I can''t stand it anymore!!!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Arrgghhh I can''t stand it anymore!!!

My PC has developed this incredibly annoying high pitched squeel and I feel like my ear drums are going to start bleeding any second now. I've popped the case and tried to clean it as best as possible but still it squeeeeels. Anyone got any idea's for shutting it up apart from explosives?

I don't really run this place but I have an understanding with the people who do.

? Fan bearings?

Thats the only thing I can think of that is moving fast enough to produce a high pitch squeal.

Try disabling your case fans one by one by unplugging them, see if it makes a difference. I know in the past I had some cheapo case fans and the bearings went, sounded like a cat was being tortured inside my case. replace the offending fans, total cost $16, all quiet again .

Hopefully you system isn't shutting down, ie not processor fan = badness.

I have that sometimes too, but I just kick the hell out of it and it stops

Not the best advise I ever gave, but still.....

Yup, ive cornered it down to one of my hard drives and sadly it's my 20Gb Seagate thats barely a year old. Oh well, might leave it for a few days and if it doesn't quiet down, i'll swap it out.

BTW just noticed that today is my 2 year anniversary since joining the forums!!!

EB: Happy Anniversary, man.
