Imperum Galactica III: Genesis

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Imperum Galactica III: Genesis

Just wandering if some of you guys are following this game. It's been yet again delayed but it looks promising. Basically, they want to offer large scale tactical capital ship combat.

I happen to download a few months ago a tech demo of the game. It's not an official demo, it was a demo they pull off to show the new MAtrox video card, of course, the demo spreaded over the internet in no time. The demo offer one mission and a "movie" mode where you simple watch many ships in a huge space fight. The graphics are simply, mind blowing, and the rediculous part, is that I run this game (demo) with all details without a single slowdown (PIII 600Mhz) even with an Ati Radeon 64 DDR video card.

anyway, I'd recommand that you make some search on the web and download the demo. It's a though one (I am yet to beat it) although it's great.

oh, and the official website goes here: www.ig3.de . Don't just watch screenshots, you have to download the demo and see for yourself.

The only thing I liked about IG2 were the videos - they're real good. However, the game itself... well, I've seen better. Watching the icons move around the screen gives you an impression nothing is happening. Battle sims are unimpressive, both in case of space and ground combat. Guess the game scope was a bit too ambitious for the time - similar to Battlecruser 3000 AD some time before.
However, IG3 looks promising.
Anyway, tastes may differ, right?
