Hmm......

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Hmm......

As I sit here watching one of the Alien movies, I notice a change in the forums - a slight change. But, like a stone dropped in the water, the effect will radiate outward and become stronger, spreading to others.

As the release nears, we can look up and see the impending tide of newbies threatening to wash over us all. (not necessarily a bad thing)
I heralded the coming of this great tsunami of ignorance, as I was one of the first - I churned out a barrage of questions.

Now.........now the community is stirring, as Freelancer draws near, so too, does our awakening.
We stir ever more.

........like the Dragon of Doom

See how I ruined the feeling with my out-of-place reference to QFG5? DO YOU?!?!?

In case you're wondering why I posted something like this, I felt like it.

I do what I must, when I must...

I know. I've been taking yoga and learning zen meditations to cultivate more patience and strength in sheperding the newbies . *chant* I am one with the universe...I am one with the universe...

Perhaps I can actually change my name into Edison Trent , so I can get used to it After all, soon I'll be hearing that name and be confronted with it more than anything else for a very long time

I wonder how my wife will react when she hears that she has become Mrs. Trent

Seriously though, we have to be nice, helpful and coherent towards the newbies when the flooding begins. It's going to be hard (you can imagine the same questions being asked over and over again), but we (as the welcoming committee) have to maintain strong, solid, resourceful, helpful, polite and be all that we can be.

What? Did someone say my name?

Hehe, titbits.

Post Mon Feb 17, 2003 10:33 am

Heh he, THAT is truly funny BS

Are you going to keep the name ?

Perhaps we can all change our user names into Freelancer character names

Best way to deal with it is after you have answered a question, copy it into notepad or something. Then all you have to do is cut and paste it and make some modifications.

To be perfectly honest though, I don't reall care how many people come in here and ask the same question over and over again. Just as long as they do it politely and don't have an "Im the greatest pilot in the world, so what would you know" attitude, nothing irks me more than that.

...Untill the waves fade.

You can just go away for a while and then come back when the game has released. Easy for me: I got an exams week so I will cut my number of visits to this wonderful forum.

That a crack at me? Huh.....pUNK!?!?!?!?
j/k

Seriously, even though I'm somewhat of a newbie (not n00b!), I will help newbies everywhere to the best of my abilities! N00bies will meet my friend, Mr. Grim.
Y'all know my buddy Grim! Likes black cloaks, wields a scythe.

It makes me proud to be one of the ripples in the newbie wave . I've experienced this before on the Morrowind forums...but you think n00bs are bad, just wait until the n00b pirates come in and start asking "I g0t thiz 0nl1ne and i get a CRC error when i install it!!" or "i need a cdkey quick plz email me, im desperate!!!!!!!!!!" (if Freelancer already has a key system in place), then you'd be wishing for the relative quietness we have today .
