Actually Cowboy Bebop is very close to FL in spirit. It's about these 2 guys, one is an x cop and the other an x Yakuza. They collect 3 other members during the show. The animation is quite good, the sound track is awesome and the stories usually very funny/interesting. I like it
Cowboy Bebop is the name of their mother ship. The travel around the solar system through jump gates to catch wanted criminals for the bounty only they usually end up dead

I loved the Cowboy Bebop movie. In the movie they didn't do any space travel. Is the series comparable to the movie? I may look for the series and see if I can buy it if it is as good as the movie.

The series has some space dogfights, battles and some space travel, very kewl, IMO

I LOVE Cowboy Bebop, what a great show, unfortunately a bit too short (what is it, 20 something episodes + movies?)
