Outrageous Shipping Times

Arhg i just ordered a DVD set from amazon . com and it is going to take 14 days to get here and i live in the US, i shudder to think about what people outside the country have to endure (the poor souls )

I bought a VHS tape ( dont ask! ) and it took 2.5 months! F*ing bastards the lot of em!

14 days is outrageous? It's just 2 weeks, and considering it's an individual order in a multitude of millions of other individual orders, it doesn't seem so bad. Those times aren't all shipping times, there's other things at work too.

Plus, be glad it isn't a mail-in order. That would take at least another week.

Why make your own mistakes when someone else has already made them for you?

Well, considering a lot of other places do "next business day" shipping, 2 weeks is just way too long.

I don't know if this is true for other areas, but I do know that the US Postal Service in the Berkeley, CA area has slowed to a stupifying crawl. I've had Barnes & Noble orders waiting in a city only a 10 minute drive away for TWO WEEKS before they finally got sent to me.

Make absolutely sure you get UPS to send it, and not the USPS. If you go for the slowest delivery option at B&N.com (to get free shipping, for example), B&N will use EITHER UPS or USPS, and you can't specify which one you want (although I've never tried calling them).

Do yourself a favor and go with the next step up.

Hehe, titbits.

I agree that 14 days is way too long, but it still beats the way mail order used to be, "please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery". With all the different outfits out there selling stuff you oughta be able to find someone who will send stuff by UPS. I'm still used to waiting weeks for stuff like I had to when I was a kid, so when something I order online comes in 4 or 5 days I'm pleasantly suprised.

Let's get those missiles ready to destroy the universe!!

14 days is a long time though. I don't like waiting more than 3 days or so. And you guys are right, it's just not like Z to buy something. I ordered a digital piano the other day, I'm still waiting for that to come in...

Heh, yes, but it wouldn't take any longer than a day to get anywhere in Britain.

Anyone ever had a shipping time of 6 months?

I had, i had a pc shipped from ireland from Dell, it got lost 2 times and took 6 months before we finaly got it. Ofcourse we demanded some upgrades and we got them too:
from 500 to 650 mhz
from vodoo3 to tnt2
from 64ram to 128 ram

and they where even kind enough to deliver the subwoofer and speakers twice
