Homeplanet space-sim demo

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Homeplanet space-sim demo

To those that win anything in the demo this game seems like it might decrease some of the freelancer waiting anxiety,at least for me anyways. The graphics doesn't look too bad from the screenies.Check it out here.

Heh guess the filesize was too much for some.Ok,I'll give my take on this game it's seems to be a combination of all games the mission style of Freespace 2,the Realistic physics of I-war 2 & this also makes for a great tutorial if you want to get into the Freelancer control scheme since if you don't have a Joystick you can use your mouse which allows your to right click on your enemies to target them & left click to fire your weapons with the auto-scroll controlling missiles. The game speech is in russian but the sub-titles & everything else IS in english. The ships are obviously made for realistic physics as well which will obviously make them look like some sort of insect with each leg functioning as a stabelizing thruster with the abdomen functioning as the main thruster.

Graphics kind of look cartoonish judging from the screenshots. I'll wait and see what others say first.

I came. I saw. I conquered. And sometimes get conquered.

what takes some getting used to in this game is the use of inertia
by pressing spacebar( i think ) you can either acclerate and obtain a relatively modest topspeed 150 m/sec is default throttle, or accelerate infinitle and reach speeds of over 10k/sec!!! toggling also affects steering, and sliding is much more noticeable at highspeeds.
it can be difficult figuring out when to enter or exit inertia mode (for me at least
the best part seems to be the weapons loadout, you have the choice of over a dozen guns and subsets with attributes ranging from rate of fire, shot velocity, and .. well.. um.. something else that i can't remember.
missles come in varied subsets too.
The story line confuses me.. even when reading through the readme. it lacks the immersion that puts you in the game. If a wingman gets shot, it's like "What? he was on my side? oh.." instead of "OMG you killed Kenny! YOU BASTARDS) maybe i've just been spoiled with info from FL, but the whole time playing, i was asking myself "Who am i? what am i doing? am i good or bad?" maybe it's because cutscenes and a decent intro haven't been made yet. so i'll withhold final judgement on story until the final build comes out.
Graphics looks good. flight control is innovative. and we got BIG planets!
for those of you who want "BLACK SPACE" this is it. lots of stars... lots of black.

Everything still feels a bit unpolished, but i suppose that's to be expected at this stage. Graphics looks good. flight control is innovative. and we got BIG planets!
for those of you who want "BLACK SPACE" this is it. lots of stars... lots of black.

but IMHO, FL is gunna kick it's @$$
