the most important thing to me is that you actively engage in music - too many people listen to the familiar, and they're really missing out on what music has to offer which is something new, ya know? not saying throw albums away once you listen to them, just sayin' the ipod holds like 600 songs or whatever and that would only tide me over for a few days at the most so it's really no option for me

i like most music, provided it does not use electronic drums, sampling, or voice effects (pop music abuses all three of these to the point of being nearly skilless) and has something unique and beautiful to say (unlike linkin park, korn, etc whatever numetal bands you want here) - if art is about conveying ideas and not just emotions then pop doesn't qualify as art...unless i missed some hidden message in holla'back girl not all pop 'divas' are fakes but a lot are; using effects to smooth and fill out their shoddy vocals.

AC/DC is one of my favorites, cannot handle modern country, or rap at all. I love the blues, and some Jazz, and good Christian music not the modern stuff.

Ah me wife and her new album eh?

I am under no pretense that her music will not be worth listening to! However her music videos should prove entertaining

As for my iPod, AC/DC, Led Zep, Metallica (old stuff), G'n'R, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Mad Season, Muse, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, The Killers and Funeral for a Friend.

Iron Maiden are being tried out (love some songs, indifferent about others) as are Muse (like some) and Funeral for a Friend (undecided, listening to their first album and second album).

Don't really do new music tbh.

iron maiden is good - early metallica's best qualities can only be fully appreciated alongside the first two megadeth albums imo (metallica won on overall feeling but eventually megadeth prevailed on its musical merit)

oh and a shout out for behold the arctopus - insanomusic!

The Killers new album (Sams Town) was/is freakin awesome, way better than Hot Fuss.
